Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
Wonderful recipe. The only issue I had with the recipe as written is the glaze needs to be reduced after the chicken is done. I took out the chicken and brought the sauce back up to a boil for about 4-5 minutes until it was a true glaze, then simply spooned it over the chicken.

Apple Spice Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
This has to be hands-down the best apple cake I have had. I served it at a family dinner and everyone took some home. I followed the advice of other reviewers and decreased the sugar to 1 cup - it was perfectly sweet enough. Also, I only used 1/2 cup of butter and substituted 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce. It was moist, spicy and delicious. Thank you - this one's a keeper!

ABC (Absolute Best Chewy) Chocolate Chippers

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2002
Sorry, but these cookies were absolutely average. They're not bad, just not fantastic like the author would have you believe. I prefer a chewier cookie and these were too cake-y for my taste. I did like the level of instruction of the recipe, I find that very helpful.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
Unbelievably good! I didn’t have 7x3 loaf pans, so I divided the batter between two 9x5 pans and increased the cooking time by 20 minutes – they come out wonderfully. This is definitely a keeper!

Monster Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2003
Very disappointing recipe - I had to toss the whole batch because they were dry and flavorless (unless you count an overwhelming peanut butter taste). I don't understand all the rave reviews. The only thing I did diffently was used baking butter instead of margarine. Maybe that was the problem.

Crispy Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2002
Perfect! This cookie is just what I was looking for - crispy, chewy and sweet. 12 minutes was plenty of time for my oven; make sure they aren't overcooked because they easily become too crunchy .

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2004
What a great recipe! I'd been looking for a healthy alternative to white pizza dough - and this is it! I like a more tender crust (and I had the time), so I kneaded it and let it rise for an hour, it was perfect. Even my 2-1/2 year old loved it. Next time I'll definitely double the recipe and freeze half.

Pizza On The Grill I

YUM! What a great way to make pizza even better! I have made this three times already since the start of the grilling season. The dough tastes so much better when it's grilled. Thanks for a fabulous recipe!

I made these with chow mein noodles instead of the potato sticks, they came out very yummy.

Yummy. I bet this sauce would work equally well with chicken or pork.

Microwave Bread and Butter Pickles

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2005
Excellent recipe - easy to make and quite tasty. The only thing I didn't like was that after a couple of days marinating the sweetness really intensifies, overwhelming all the other flavors. Next time I'll try with less sugar.

What an easy and delicious recipe! I made these to go with a grilled chicken caesar salad and they were perfect! So much more tender than the store-bought variety. I wouldn't change a thing - thanks so much for the recipe.

Cornish Splits

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2003
Wow, these are wonderful! 1/4 tsp. of salt didn't sound like enough, so I followed other reviewer's advice and added a full teaspoon. The flavor and texture of these rolls is perfect. I will definitely make these over and over again.

Excellent recipe. I loved that you can make it ahead of time and freeze. I couldn't find shredded swiss and ended up using Montery Jack instead and everyone at brunch loved it.

Stir Fried Snow Peas and Mushrooms

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
A very good basic recipe. I especially like the fact that you can make it with stuff that's always on hand. I did make some modifications the second time I tried this, with very good results; as suggested by a lot of reviewers, I substituted dark brown sugar for the white in the topping. I also added 1 chopped granny smith apple, since the first time around this came out a bit dry, and I increased the cinnamon to 1 tablespoon, and added a teaspoon of allspice. It was way more moist and flavorful the second time around.
