Decadent Chocolate Orange Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
I did not care for this recipe. The cake just doesn't hold up when being assembled. As in one reviewer, I couldn't prevent the cake from sliding despite all the tricks I knew. Worse is when the cake began to split. In the end, it looked like a mud pancake . Not at all salvageable and heaven forbid presentable . When a recipe requires splitting a cake with different fillings a ganache that merely spells disaster.

Blueberry Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Sorry, I really don't think this recipe is as good as everyone seems to rave about even with the suggested changes with other reviewers. It's far too runny. I think it would benefit adding more flour, cornstarch, or tapioca. It's still too sweet. Made it for my family the other day and I knew already that I would be having left over pie for days. Anyone for pie? Come on over.

Moist Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
Disastrous!! It is actually a moist cake and the taste is a ok. But baking it is the messiest experience I've ever had. 20 minutes into the baking time I smelled something burning. I looked in the oven and to my surprise the batter was boiling out of the pan. I continued to bake until the full 35 minute cooking time was up and still the cake wasn't fully cooked. I gave it another ten minutes until the cake was fully cooked. I sufficiently greased and floured the pans. Despite this the cake did not easily come out of the pan and partially collapsed. Really a mess! I followed the recipe closely since this was my first attempt.
