Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2015
I added more spices per others suggestions and felt that this was just not the recipe I was hoping it would be.

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
This has become part of my Christmas dinner tradition. This has a great taste paired with caramel sauce or hot fudge. Great texture and taste.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2014
I substituted a cheddar jack mixture for the American cheese. Since it was shredded cheese, I used about 3/4 cup and the cook time was considerably less.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
This bread makes excellent sandwiches, toast, crouton - everything! I do half honey and half sugar in this recipe. I also add oats, flax seeds and sunflower seeds to my bread to make it extra tasty. This has been my bread recipe for the last year and my husband and I can't get enough.

Marrakesh Vegetable Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
I love this dish! I saw that a lot of the users used one dish to make this dish so I did the same. I needed extra protein so I cubed one and a half chicken breasts to add to the dish. After heating up the oil, I added the spices and the chicken and cooked for a few minutes. I doubled the curry, turmeric and garlic to start with, about a 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne and added a splash of cinnamon and about 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala from another reviewers suggestion. I then added the vegetables including an addition of some acorn squash and let them cook for a while. After adding 1 1/4 cup of orange juice, I threw in more turmeric, curry and garam masala to taste. It was really delicious. I didn't have raisins or spinach to put in this time, but this is definitely a recipe to keep and try again when I do have them. I also recommend cubing the sweet potato smaller than you would think. This made about 7 very hearty servings.

Moist Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
I didn't have yogurt so I used low fat sour cream instead. I have used both yogurt and sour cream in this recipe and like it both ways. I always add a little more cocoa to make them really chocolatey - I eyeball it and ended up with about 16 muffins.

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
I love this recipe! I have made it the traditional way twice, with gluten free flour once and as muffins once all in the last two months because I have had a lot of zucchini. I prefer to put chocolate chips in both the chocolate and normal mixture. these are beautiful and delicious however you make them.

Glazed Pumpkin Donuts

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
I recently found this recipe on a blog site and they said it is a copycat of famous chain. I love trying copycat recipes at home to save so much money. These are easy to make and turned out better than expected. I tried half the donuts with a chocolate hazelnut glaze which my husband likes better.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
I didn't have any canned tomatoes so I sautéed about 5-6 medium tomatoes in oil for about 15 minutes with garlic and onion powder since I was out of onions. I blended it as suggested and added all the spices and remaining ingredients and let simmer while making pasta. This only made about three servings and I did also add flour as others suggested.

Squash Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
I cooked up the vegetables as written, blended them and then used regular cheese as opposed to the processed cheese as others suggested. I tasted it after adding salt and pepper and felt like it was just mush. I added some garlic powder, paprika, 3/4 cup milk, 1 cup chicken broth and a scallop of Dijon I had lying around. It's much better and will be great on a fall day with some crusty bread.

Joe's Fusion Chicken Pad Thai

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2014
This turned out great! Based on other reviews, we reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and only used about 2/3 of a package of rice noodles. We probably could have reduced the sugar a little bit more. I also added soy sauce to the sauce which I think it needed. We used chicken broth instead of beef broth. We didn't have green onions or cilantro to put on top like traditional pad Thai, but we did top it with crushed peanuts. This was amazing for our first attempt at pad Thai.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was a pretty good recipe, but it definitely needed more of all the spices. I also used some minced garlic, dash of hot sauce, dash of Worcestershire sauce and a little paprika in the mix. I used 1/3 cup may, 1/3 cup sour cream and just under a 1/3 cup milk with vinegar (buttermilk substitute).

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was really good! I made a wheat crust from scratch and used homemade ranch. I sauteed yellow onions and used those in lieu of the green onions and it turned out great. A few shakes of crushed red pepper also made the flavors delicious. I did find that baking this for 20 minutes with toppings was too long.

These turned out wonderfully for our first time making them. My husband and I love asiago cheese bagels so we threw in garlic powder and cheese during the kneading time. Very easy, quick and delicious.

Easy Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
I loved this recipe. I made this for a get together we are having tomorrow night, but had to try it tonight because the batter was amazing. I did add a little more milk to make sure it would stay moist. I also used walnuts instead of pecans. I put this in a bundt pan to make it decorative and baked it at 350 for 50 minutes. I will probably add more chocolate chips next time, but I love chocolate chips.

Cranberry Orange Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
This was great. I don't have a bread maker so I let the warmed orange juice and the yeast set together. Then I added all the ingredients in my Kitchen Aid and let it mix together. I let it rise in the mixing bowl and then transferred it to a loaf pan. Because I wanted this fresh out of the oven for breakfast, I let it sit in the oven overnight and then baked it. It turned out pretty well. I did use half honey and half sugar for the sweetener. Next time I will probably add more sugar, cinnamon and a little more orange juice.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

I read the other reviews and cut down on the lemon and dill and the flavors were still overpowering to me. This was too rich and the flavors didn't work well together.

Chocolate Pecan Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
This was my first time making pecan pie and I loved it and so did the rest of my family. I did follow one users suggestion and covered the pie for the first half hour of baking which helped the crust stay a nice golden brown.
