Tried these for a family brunch, doubling the recipe and using half white and half brown sugar and fresh blueberries instead of dried cranberries. They were well received, although I personally was not crazy about them (I think the twice-cooked bacon was a little strong for my tastes). The doubled recipe yielded three or four dozen when using a scoop of approx. 1.5 tbsp size. The fresh berries made the dough a little soft but it baked fine. If I make these again, I will try whole wheat flour and oats, as others have suggested, and maybe cut back on the sugar some to make them a bit healthier.
