I'm from McMinnville, Oregon. I love cooking, wine and food pairing, and eating! Making an enjoyable unique dinner for my family is the highlight of my day. I sold my homemade hummus at farmers market, and worked in a wine tasting room until we recently moved to Gilbert, Arizona. Now I'm enjoying being a housewife, and mom to my amazing family.
My favorite things to cook
I am always switching it up, but my standbys are Red Curry Chicken, Fiesta salad, cous cous with chickpeas, Pad thai, sweet potato and black bean burritos, panzanella, caesar salad, tomato and goat cheese tart, roasted brussel sprouts, roasted tomatoes, oven roasted chicken, balsalmic cabbage and leeks.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in a meat and potatos kind of family. We did a lot of berry picking and pie making. I loved making jam and canning peaches with my mom and Grandma Joyce. My dad cooks a killer "flame kissed" steak. My mom is good with the grill too with her famous bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers, and smoked brisket. Another on going tradition is making Uncle Don's spicy pickles. MMMMMmmmm Good!
My cooking triumphs
It wasn't technically cooked, but when I sold my hummus at farmers market, I sold out every week. I was kind of a big deal. :) Some dinners my guests and family will never forget are- Roasted chicken with garlic potatos and roasted brussel sprouts, My daughters 2nd birthday pasta bar, my red curry chicken, my caesar salad with home made croutons and dressing, and my pad thai.
My cooking tragedies
I set my deck on fire. I was trying to light the grill and when a match would go out I'd toss it in the grass. Later that night we saw smoke in the back yard. A couple feet of our deck looked like a giant charcoal. Oops! Not as tragic, but once I was so frazzled with the kids and went to the sink to strain my gravy, but didn't put a bowl under the strainer. All my beautiful gravy down the drain. So sad. :(

Chicken Milano
Tasty! I used a pint of grape tomatoes and a pint of baby yellow tomatoes and roasted them for 4 hrs on 245 degrees. I also threw in a few baby onions and whole garlic cloves. I pounded the chicken down, and we love spice so we put some crushed red pepper flakes on top as well as some good parmesan. Everyone loved it!
