Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
yum! i made this yesterday with a hungry husband and picky toddler in mind. this was a staple in my family growing up and this recipe tastes just like i remember so thank you. Like many others i did alter the recipe just a tad: i scaled back the sugar to 2 cups (using half brown and half white), i used more zucchini than called for, at least 1/2 a cup more, and i substituted coconut oil for the veg oil (a "better" fat). thanks for the recipe my family is thoroughly enjoying it.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
i followed the directions except i doubled the recipe and used about 5 cups blackberries. i made it last night and it is almost gone today. my southren husband adored it as did my toddler son. and this northren girl is happy to say she can make this southren dessert. i had been looking for a good recipe to please all of us. thank you so much!!

Original Chex® Party Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
this recipe is delicious! the cooking method leaves something to be desired (as has been stated over and over). the one time i tried in microwave it was pretty blah. the oven really roasts the nuts and cereal to perfection. i double the seasonings, and make a ton of this and my family looks forward to it every holiday. this christmas i will be adding cheerios for my son who is addicted to them. happy holidays!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
this was my first attempt at a cobbler. I usually make crumbles. I thought cobblers were supposed to be bready or cake like so i dont get those complaints. mine turned out just like a crumble however. I followed the recipe exactly, but the peaches i used were HUGE so i think that made the difference. we really liked it though. it was kinda soupy, but not too bad. i can see how it would have been too sweet if i didn't have the amount of peaches i did but not bad.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

yum! very peanut buttery. and nice and fluffy. followed direction almost exactly - i used cream in place of milk and ended up only using about 1.5 cups of sugar. thanks for the recipe!

Kelly's Butterscotch Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
I really like the consistency of this. i changed the order i heated things a bit, and didn't have any problems with lumps or grains. I mixed dry ingredients, added some of the milk, heated, then added the rest of the milk (and a bit of cream) other than that, followed the recipe. but the brown sugar overpowered. on first bite, it was good, but after another couple i felt a tummy ache coming on.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
thank you for this. i don't really like biscuits, and i suck at making them. the few times i made them from scratch they came out like hockey pucks. but trying to aviold the chemicals in the mixes and premade dough, i tried this. they came out pretty good. everyone really likes them. i used some suggestions on here - subbed butter for shortening and kneaded the dough only a little. the biscuits lovers in the house are happy.

Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
this was a bit too sweet for me. It made me wish i was eating oatmeal raisin. but as for my fiance and sister - they couldn't get enough (they have a bigger sweet tooth than cookie monster lol) I followed alot of suggestions on this site and they came out soft and i removed them ok, but i was nervous about them sticking so i used wax paper and cooking spray and maybe thats why my kitchend looked like a jimi hendrix concert!!! so much smoke!!! Thats probably why the other reviewer who said theirs smoked too did. they did the same thing.
