Bacon Broccoli Salad with Raisins and Sunflower Seeds

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2012
I make this, but I do a couple of things differently that makes it so much more tasty. I put the mayo and the raisins in a blender and it makes the dressing much better. After mixing, let it sit in the fridge over night. Add the sunflower seeds right before serving.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
This is much like what I make. The only things I do differently are: add a small can of drained crushed pineapple, use brown sugar only, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Holiday Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
This is much like I cook. I have a little trick that really works well. I add all of the condiments to the cornbread before baking. It's tastier and easier. I would leave out the bell peppers also. Adding a couple of chopped boiled eggs are good. Welcome to Texas cooking!!

Make one pan of cornbread with sage in it and one more cup of broth. Add it to this recipe and you will have Texas Dressing.

Mom's Simple Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
This is really good, but I use an easier way to make dumplings. I use Pillsbury biscuits that come 4 cans to the package. Just tear them into small pieces and drop them into the boiling liquid as you tear them. So easy and so good!

Artichokes

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
I use a pressure cooker and steam for 12 minutes. I forgot to add that when the artichokes are done and very hot, I spread out the leaves a little and drop some finely shredded cheese all around and then push them back together. It melts down to the area you eat. Also, I use garlic butter for the dip. At some kitchen shops, you can find artichoke holders used for cooking them. It helps to save the stems. This is one of my favorite dishes ever!
