Cooking Chicken Sausage and Veggies with Penne Pasta
Chicken Sausage and Veggies with Penne Pasta
About this Cook
I'm a home cook and food blogger that loves to make fine dining food at home. I've switched my family to almost all homemade food that's not only healthy and yummy, but free of additives and chemicals. I share my recipes and cooking tips at www.simplysophisticatedcooking.com.
My favorite things to cook
It's hard to pick my favorite things to cook because I love experimenting with new foods and recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to bake at high altitude after growing up at sea level. Cooking my first prime rib, perfectly to medium rare. Learning about Chinese Five Spice, now one of my favorite spice mixes
My cooking tragedies
My first cooking attempt as a kid was one of my cooking tragedies. I burnt the fried egg I was making so badly that it was smoking up the kitchen. Another tragedy that I will never live down was one of my first times making spaghetti for my boyfriend then, now husband, and undercooking the noodles because he came home early and I got nervous. I had cooked noodles hundreds of times before but these were beyond al dente. He still picks on me today about it.

Black Bean Hummus
Great recipe although I did make some changes. It is staple in my ktchen now, we make it a couple of times a week. I substituted lime juice for the lemon, much better flavor and used water to reduce the thickness rather than the bean juice from the can. I also added extra garlic and cayenne pepper as that we like it spicy.

Beignets
I really loves these, they were light and fluffy. My boyfriend loved them with his coffee. I did add 1 teaspoon of vanilla, other than that followed the recipe.
