Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
I made this one weekend for my dad and he has asked me to make it almost every weekend after. We are both very picky about our apple crisp and this recipe was wonderful. I used more than 10 apples because we like more apples. Since we used fresh Orchard apples I left out the water and still had to syphon off some juice after it baked.

Nut Filling for Kolacky Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2011
This is a wonderfully simple nut filling that is very adaptable. I used chopped walnuts and substituted brown sugar for the white suger and used this to fill mini tarts. Delisious!!

Peanut Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
This is a great recipe, but make sure to don't bake it too long. I only had a butter recipe chocolate cake mix on hand but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Very good! I made cupcakes and the first pan I baked too long and they were a little dry. I reduced the time on my second pan and they were perfect.

Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
The flavor of this cookie is wonderful. They remind of a crisp brownie. The dough was a bit crumbly and kept pulling up with the rolling pin, had to use a good dusting of cocoa powder. I would recomend rolling dough out on parchment paper, cut out shapes, then remove excess dough to prevent cookies from falling apart during tranfer to a baking sheet.

Magic Walnut Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
This would be a 5 star recipe if the instructions were more clear. I think the reason people are having trouble with this recipe is because you have the whip the egg whites until foamy, then gradually beat in the sugar until you get a meringue. Next you fold in the walnuts and bake as directed. I got wonderful fluffy cookies following this method.

Took this to our Easter celebration as one of out dessert options. Half the family likes cheescake and they loved this. The other half don't like cheesecake, and they thought this was the best cheesecake they had ever had. This recipe ROCKS!!!

I make these cookies everytime I make Meringues to avoid wasting the egg yolks. Very yummy and super easy! I like to add a little cardamon for extra flavor.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This worked really well, but I had to thin it a bit with mork milk and syrup. Only had one issue. When some of the cookies dried the frosting developed splotches, like the ingredients were seperating or something. Any ideas? You can kinda see what I'm talking about in the pics I posted.

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
The first batch I made I didn't cook long enough and it came out like a caramel. Not being one to waste food, specially something so tastey, I used it as a filling for my cookie tarts. Delicious. The second batch I made turned out perfectly.

Bones of the Dead

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
The first time I made these I used Large eggs and my dough was very sticky and I had to add extra flour and sugar. The second time I used Medium eggs and the batter was much better. For those who have had trouble with sticky batter try using smaller eggs. I dust my cookies with powdered sugar when finished. They are great with coffee! I also want to note that there are several different versions of this cookie. Each version developed in different parts of Italy.
