Three Berry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Terrific pie! I used 5 cups of a frozen berry mix and needed 1/4 cup of corn starch to coat all the berries. It was GREAT! Perfectly set and just the right amount of tart/sweetness. Try it, you'll love it!!

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
They are good cookies and simple to make. I added the vanilla and used three types of sugar equally (granulated, brown, confectioners). I also rolled the balls in sugar prior to baking to give them a Christmas glisten! They turned out pretty, the dark chocolate kisses look best.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Great recipe! Terrific for making muffins too. This recipe made 1 dozen muffins, bake 350 degrees 20-25 minutes. It took 6-7 bananas to make 2 1/3 cups. I also added a little cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla per recommendations of other reviewers. This was delicious - moist but not mushy like some banana recipes. Definitely worth trying!! Enjoy.....

Coconut Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
*** EXCELLENT!!! *** I made this twice within 2 days and it is gone! I took some to a holiday party on a tray of frosted cookies, chocolate peanut butter balls, and gingersnaps. It added a nice color and appealed to many people who wanted a healthier looking cookie. Delicious! Rave reviews by everyone who tasted it. I followed the recipe with the exception of chopped almonds instead of pecans and I drizzled the condensed milk over the mixture when it was in the pan - not as messy as trying to stir it. Be careful about the time 22 minutes was perfect for mine to maintain chewy texture, 25 minutes on the second batch came out a little too crispy/dry (but we still ate them!). This is now one of my favorites for any time of year.

Coconut Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
Delicious! I made the cake as recommended with the exception of nuts. It was terrific, very moist. I made one cake with the frosting recommended and toasted coconut - great. I made another batch as pinapple upside down cupcakes and they were so good that they didn't last the evening. I melted 1/2 tablespoon butter in bottom of cupcake tins, added some brown sugar to melted butter, put pinapple ring in bottom with cherry in center, cake batter on top. After cooking (25-30 min) I flipped them immediately onto wax paper then placed them on a plate. Beautiful and delicious! Each cupcake is a great individual serving but everyone took more than just one!!!! Enjoy!

Festive Fudge

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
Great, yummy, delicious!!!! This was so easy to make and everyone raved about the creamy texture and perfect taste (not too sweet). I split the chips: 1/2 semisweet and 1/2 milk chocolate. I did not add nuts. I will make again and again!

Nora's Special Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
These are good. If you make the changes that everyone recommends then they are GREAT! We just ate them all for breakfast. The changes included: add 1/2 cup brown sugar, increase to 2 eggs, increase to 1 cup milk, increase to 1 cup chips, decrease to 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Keep the white sugar, flour, baking powder, salt the same. They freeze well but I wouldn't make the topping if you want to freeze them (it just falls off). Try them - you will like them!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2004
GREAT!!!! I have made this pie at least 10 times since the fall and have received tremendous reviews every time. I even used frozen apple slices (abundant trees this year) and it is still terrific. I toss the apples in the mix prior to putting into the crust. Try it - it is great!!!

Great! This tastes terrific and is easy to make. I used the suggestion of spliting the shortning with 1/2 butter and it was great. Now I just need to learn those decorating skills!!!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2003
As many reviewers noted, this is a very forgiving recipe. I used some olive oil while cooking down fresh spinach and therefore no butter, 1/2 cup milk, and less chedder cheese. It turned out great!!!!! I recommend putting empty pie crust in oven for 5-7 min prior to filling to give it a crispy bottom crust - no more soggy bottom!!
