Chocolate Pecan Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2001
This was a HUGE hit at Thanksgiving this year, no one even noticed the pumpkin pie! The bad part was that I only got half of a piece myself, so I'm making it again for Christmas dinner!!

B.L.A.T. Wraps

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2002
These were yummy - my husband loved them. Cooking the bacon was messy, but the bacon was the best part, and the tortillas made them so easy to eat. I'll definitely make them again!

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2002
This was SO easy and SO good, tasted like it was from a restaurant! I added some diced avocado and shredded pepper jack cheese as garnish, yum! I also spiced it up just a little with cayenne pepper and a little bit of cumin. This is a keeper, my hubby couldn't believe I made it from "scratch" (of course I threw the cans away first!).

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2003
The taste was very good, but I used boneless pork chops and even though I cut the cooking time down to 25 minutes, they were very dry. I might give it a try again though, because we really liked the taste, and I'll cut the cooking time down even more.

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2005
Really are yummy! I did change it just slightly by reducing the dressing to 1/2 cup and a few tablespoons of soy sauce, but that was mostly because I was using thin pork chops. My problem (like always) is overcooking the chops - when they're that thin, these cooked up in less than 10 minutes. And the sauce was great! Hubby loved it too. Made it with rice pilaf, perfect for the extra sauce. Will make again!

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Really good :) Even better the next day - I think I'd cook the hashbrowns a little bit longer, or it's possible mine weren't totally thawed yet....but, everyone loved it, and it was easy!

Quick Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
This is the perfect working Mom's dinner - it's fast, easy, not too many ingredients, and really yummy. Even my very picky four year old liked it (only had one serving, but she cleaned her plate!). I just made it all on the stove in one big pot, and added some fried onions to the top of mine and my husband's - really good. Will definitely make again :)

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This recipe gets five stars from me, because it has everything I want: it's easy, it's fast, not too many ingredients, not too long to cook, and most of all, my four year old liked it! I'll admit, as a working Mom, I turn to fast food some nights, and I love having a recipe like this to break that up - plus my daughter can help me cook, and she loves that. I used angel hair pasta (her favorite), and both cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and it was yummy. I forgot to add frozen peas like others suggested, so we'll do that next time. We all liked it and will definitely make again!

Angela's Oriental Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
This was very tasty. I doubled the recipe, so we had some leftover, and it was even better the next day, after the flavors had blended. I also added chicken bouillon to the water (since I didn't have chicken broth on hand), and also used shredded lettuce instead of bok choy (a little mushier, but still good). My four year old liked it enough to finish one small bowl - and as finicky as she is, that's saying something! My hubby loved it. Quick and easy, and de'lish - will make again!

Wave Your Flag Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
Since we were having a July 4th party this year, I decided to try this, and it was great - everyone at the party loved it, and most had seconds. Personally, I wasn't sure about the jello mixing with the cake (I thought it made the pound cake too mushy, but no one else seemed to mind), so next time I may leave out the cake, or I'll let the jello harden more before I layer it in (or maybe mix the jello with some cool whip and layer that). Overall, a big hit, and very festive and pretty - will make again!

Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
These are awesome, the celery and onion add the perfect 'crunch' to kick up the ordinary deviled egg. My father actually said they were the "best deviled eggs he ever had"! And even my 4 yr old daughter liked the filling (and she usually doesn't like eggs in general). I didn't use quite as much onion as the recipe called for, but otherwise I followed it exactly. If I make these just for our family, I'll add even more hot sauce for a bigger "kick". These were a huge hit at our barbecue (when the plate got to me, there was only one left!), and I'll be making these again!

The Works Steak Burger

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
The flavor of these was very good, although I'm still trying to find a burger that stays juicy when it's cooked to the recommend temp (my paranoid hubby grills them to "well done" in case of salmonella - can't be too careful when young kids and elderly will be eating, as we had at our family picnic), and probably because of that, these seemed kind of dry to me. I'm sure had he not cooked them so long, they would have tasted better, or maybe if I'd added chopped onion to the mix, instead of minced, that would have helped. I did like mine, especially topped with tomato, lettuce, and mustard, but I wasn't blown away (like I hoped I would be). We might try them again when it's just us, and not cook them so long, see if that helps. Smelled great cooking though!

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
We've made corn on the grill three times this summer, and improvised on this recipe just a bit - instead of butter, we sprayed non-stick butter all over each cob, salted, closed the husks (removed silks of course), and grilled for 30-40 minutes. YUM. Soooo good, everyone gobbled them up - including our four year old, she loves it. Will continue to make corn this way every summer - thanks for the inspiration!

Sesame Broccoli

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This was really good, my four year old didn't care for it (and she usually loves broccoli, if it's plain), but hubby and I loved it. The sesame oil soaked into the broccoli pieces and they melted in your mouth. Yum, will make again....

Baked Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
Really liked this recipe, it kept the chicken super moist, and had a great flavor. The only thing I added was a little bit of sesame oil, mixed with the soy sauce, but otherwise, followed it exactly. Will make again!

Easy Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This was pretty good, and really easy. I didn't have any taco seasoning, like others had mentioned using, but I had all the spices for it - chili powder, cumin, paprika, onion and garlic powders, and cayenne, so I mixed those together to make my own "taco seasoning", and it worked. I didn't use quite as much mayo, about 3/4 cup, but followed the recipe other than those things. I could see it being kind of bland if you didn't add the spices, but my Hubby really liked it the way I made it, my four year old did too. Will probably make again, either the same way, or with a taco seasoning packet (just to see if there's a difference).

Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Found this similar recipe on the Campbell's site, but it called for more broth and had better reviews, so I went with that recipe, but it was still not good. VERY VERY dry, and I tried adding more chicken broth, and it didn't help. Stove Top would've been better! Won't make this again.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is your basic green bean casserole recipe, which I usually just wing, but decided to follow this one and use fresh green beans like others had suggested. It tasted good at the time (had to cook the beans the day before so they were ready), but wasn't as good heated up later. Pretty bitter. I'll use canned beans next time, like I always do, and it always comes out good.

Ranch-Style Party Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This was ok, but very "ranch-y" tasting. I should have followed others advice and cut back on the ranch dressing mix, but I wanted to follow it exactly the first time and see. People liked it ok, but didn't love it, and I had a lot leftover. I'll cut the amt in half next time, and half again for the ranch. Cottage cheese was interesting, I used small curd and it wasn't too chunky.

Broccoli Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I made these today for Christmas dinner, and they were a HUGE HIT! Everyone loved the tomatoes, and they looked so pretty and festive. The tomatoes, bread crumbs, and butter, were a perfect compliment to the broccoli. It was delicious. This might just become a staple to our Christmas dinners!
