Masala Chai Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I love vegan brownies so I really wanted to try these. They were so worth going off my diet for. The spiciness was very subtle (despite my accidentally using a full cup of chai, made them really moist though!)

Double Chocolate Frozen Fudge Pops

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I probably won't make these again. The taste just didn't suit me and the pops turned out more icy than expected. Worth the try though.

Aloo Phujia

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This is pretty good. Not spicy enough for me, but I can fix that next time around. I should have taken the advice of a another reviewer who said to boil the potatoes first. Smart idea as cooking the potatoes as stated in the recipe takes much longer than 20 minutes.

Chole Saag

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I've made this once so far. It's definitely something I want to make again, but with some changes. Instead of using curry powder, I toasted ground coriander, cumin, and ground red pepper (cayenne) all to my own tastes. I substituted vegetable for the chicken broth. For the directions, I sauteed the onion and garlic first (added ginger as well) then added my toasted spices. Followed the recipe as is after that point. Next time I plan on cooking my own spinach instead of using the frozen and pureeing that together with the peas and yogurt for a creamier texture.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I love this sandwich spread. It's not only just for sandwiches. For breakfast, I make toast and top it with this. So good. The first time I made the recipe as is. Since then I've mixed it up some. Instead of mayo, I use plain Greek yogurt and add some chopped dill pickle. For my own tastes, I only use a 1/4 onion. Definitely a keeper.
