Scrumptious Chicken Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Delicious, easy, and healthy. Appreciated the review suggestions. Needs a bit more liquid than recipe has, so I pre-cooked the lentils in 1 cup+ broth until dry. For my preferences, I browned the chicken (with a bit of garam marsala) -- and added it for the last 10 minutes. I added browned onions and chopped cauliflower (any veggies likely would work.). I added a few chopped mushrooms for last 10 minutes. I left out fennel. The garlic makes the dish, so don't skimp. Yum.

Spinach and Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
This salad is very good as is. It is also an easy salad to customize to specific tastes. The one change I always make is to add kalamata olives. I have liked using fresh basil and putting it into the oil/vinegar to infuse. If the salad is for a special occasion, it's nice to add yellow peppers for color, or top with cherry tomatos. If I don't want the red onion so strong, I substitute scallions or use a bit of both. I've used pine nuts, walnuts or a combination and found all very good. For appearance, the suggestion to use white balsamic vinegar and add the spinach right before serving so it doesn't wilt are good tips. Great recipe Christine. Thanks.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
Amazing soup. It's my go-to recipe if I need soup on hand. I mostly just follow the recipe but adapt with veggies and beans that I have on hand. I like the added red wine, gives deeper flavor especially 2nd day.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Excellent. Made for church coffee hour. Crisp outside soft inside. Followed recipe except used all butter and used extra sugar cinnamon for coating. Perfect bake time for my oven was nine minutes. Thanks for the great recipe.
