Roasted Okra

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
It was okay. A little too dry and bland for my taste.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
Too sweet for my taste. I only used 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and I added Worcestershire sauce, and it was still too sweet. I also only used 1/4 cup of milk, and I'm glad I did. The consistency was perfect, and I imagine it would have been pretty mushy if I had used the amount of milk that the recipe called for. I used bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs as well. I also put half of the Worcestershire, ketchup, brown sugar mixture on the bottom and half on the top. Overall this was not my favorite recipe. Not sure I'll make it again.

I thought this was a fairly good chicken recipe. My dad seemed to enjoy it. Very very very buttery.

This is a go-to side dish for me. It's got an Asian flavor that is excellent. I really don't have anything bad to say about this recipe. it's delicious!

Grill Master Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
I make these wings all the time. Everyone I have made them for absolutely loves them, and I'm always being asked for the recipe. I don't have a grill, so I make mine in the oven. I think they would be even better on the grill because it's hard to get that crispy skin in the oven. The sauce is amazing though. Such an odd combination of flavors, but they make a surprisingly good mix.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2013
The sauce that this recipe makes is excellent! It is a bit rich, but it's still really good. My only complaint is that it's a little tough to eat when you cook the chicken breast halves in their whole form. I think the next time I make this I will cut the raw chicken into pieces and cook it in the sauce to make it easier to eat. Overall, this is a great recipe though. My family (there are only 3 of us) ate the entire batch in one sitting. Definitely adding this to my list of "keeper" recipes :)

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

This was a really good recipe. However, I think the Parmesan is absolutely necessary. Next time I will add more. Overall it's a delicious recipe though.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
This is soooo delicious! I didn't have any lemon juice, so I just did without, and it was still wonderful. Also I didn't have any onion powder, so I used dried, minced onion. This is seriously an amazing recipe, and it's so quick and easy. I will definitely be making this again!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
This recipe is absolutely delicious! I LOVE IT! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I don't think it would have been as amazing if I had followed the recipe exactly as it was written. The layering in the recipe is just a little off. I layered mine as follows: half of the ziti, half of the sauce, provolone, sour cream, rest of the ziti, mozzarella, rest of the sauce, Parmesan. That 1st layer of ziti really needs the sauce on top of it. Also, I love onion, but if you're not huge on onion, I would recommend using half of an onion. I added some garlic, salt, and pepper as I was browning the meat as well. For the sauce I used a traditional spaghetti sauce and added my own spices (basil, parsley, fennel seed, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper). I used a 4 quart 10x13 inch pan, and it fit perfectly, so I recommend using a deep pan. Also, make sure you cover the ziti as it cooks to keep it moist. With the changes I made this recipe is fantastic! Definitely a keeper! Can't wait to make this for my boyfriend :)

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
This past Thanksgiving I cooked the Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. I used this turkey recipe, and I thought it was great! Everybody really enjoyed the turkey. It was very juicy, which isn't the norm with turkeys I've had in the past. I would make this recipe again. It was very easy and delicious.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
This recipe is definitely delicious! I made it for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day because lasagna is his favorite. I had never made lasagna before, so I was happy to find a recipe with such high ratings. I'll start with the positives. The sauce is amazing! I could eat it all by itself, and I only let it simmer for an hour. I can't imagine it getting any better with more time. I'm only giving this recipe four stars because I had to make a few changes to the original recipe to make it taste the way I wanted it. There simply wasn't enough cheese in this recipe. Next time I make this I will up the ricotta a little bit. There wasn't enough of the mixture to spread. Also, I ended up using half of the mozzarella cheese slices per layer of mozzarella cheese, and I didn't have enough cheese for the top layer, so I had to use some shredded cheddar that I had in my fridge. Next time I will have to buy more mozzarella and ricotta. Also, 25 minutes without the foil is too long. Next time I will only do 15 or 20 minutes without the foil. Overall this recipe was absolutely delicious though! I also used oven ready lasagna noodles, and they worked perfectly. I will definitely make this again! (with my extra cheesy changes of course lol)
