Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
I made them this evening, and I didn't give this a 1 star because they technically were edible, but, as others had found, my cookies were a hot mess. Crumbly, no matter WHEN you ate them (right out of the oven or an hour or two later). The taste was bland, it wasn't overly peanut-buttery OR sweet, which made them boring to eat. I used all natural peanut butter and milk chocolate chips.

Leftover Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
This was great for leftovers! I made some minor changes to the recipe, but nothing huge. I used a can of cream of broccoli, and a can of cream of chicken soup instead of what was listed; I used frozen full green beans instead of the canned french style; I used homemade stuffing instead of boxed; I added a layer of grated marble cheese; And I didn't have any sour cream on hand so I used 1/4 cup of milk. I layered it as follows: Soup/turkey/milk/onion soup mixture, then green beans, then cheese, and then stuffing on top. I heated it 40 minutes, and it was perfectly heated through! I will definitely make this to use up leftovers the next time I cook a turkey dinner! Thanks so much!

Grandma Jensen's Nuts and Bolts

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
I have these in the oven right now, and the smell is heavenly! I do this recipe exactly the way it is written, and it's always a HUGE hit! I made a double batch last year for gifts at Christmas time, and people were asking for the recipe. The only change this year was I couldn't find any Rice Chex (only corn), so I ended up adding a bit of extra of everything else. Still, it's going to taste great, and I'm going to devour quite a bit myself! Thanks so much for posting the wonderful, classic nuts and bolts recipe!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
I made this tonight for dinner, with a few changes that I've read through the comments. I don't keep processed cheese like cheez whiz in the house, but I did have a can of Campbell's Broccoli & Cheddar soup, so I subbed that in for the cheez whiz. I also added in some chicken, and minced garlic when I was sautéing the onions in butter. I also doubled the amount of rice, so 3 cups of cooked rice total, and added some salt and pepper. It turned out fantastic with those changes. I couldn't imagine this recipe with half the amount of rice in it. I think it might end up a bit on the runny side. Overall, I'd make it again!

Creamy Shell Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
I made this last year for a family picnic, and it was a HUGE hit! Everybody loved it, and it went quick! I realized I didn't write a review for this at the time, and had to write one now because I'm making it again this year for a big family croquet tournament! It's just a delicious as last time. I also love that you can swap out vegetables and it doesn't take away from the salad. I added yellow and green bell peppers because I didn't have any celery on hand. Still fantastic. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!! This is my go-to for pasta salad!

Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2012
I had just over a pound, and still used the same amount of spices the recipe called for. It came out WONDERFUL! I will definitely be making these again!

Brickle Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
I ended up using a chocolate fudge cake mix, because that was all I had on hand. I also had to double the recipe like other reviewers. I used skor bits and mini chocolate chips to dip in, and these turned out great! Not too sweet. All the sweetness was from the skor bits and chocolate chips. I'll make these again in a pinch!

Blackened Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Delicious as is. I made this in a huge batch to give as gifts for Christmas. I think if I made it again, which I probably will, I'll add just a TOUCH of sugar, just to take the abrupt edge off, but the spice is perfect, if you ask me. :)

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
These are nothing short of the name given! I didn't find them too sweet, but indulgent enough to feel slightly guilty eating them. Just perfect for truffles!

Peanut Butter Balls (Power Balls)

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Simple recipe. I used all natural peanut butter, and fat free skim milk powdered, and these are still sweet and wonderfully tasty. The texture is perfect, and my fiance LOVED them. COuldn't tell the difference between these and the fatty ones. I consider that a huge success!

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
These are absolutely amazing. I did what another reviewer suggested and whipped the butter for 5 minutes first, and added the sugar and flour mixture in a bit at a time, and whipped for 1-2 minutes after each addition. This resulted in a literal melt in your mouth cookie that my fiance described as "If I took a bite out of a cloud, this is what I imagine it would be like." So, weird endorsement, but these are wonderful cookies, easy to make, and I will most definitely be making these again!

No Bake Choco-Peanut-Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
I took the advice of other reviewers and used evaporated milk, and used slightly less sugar than the 2 cups called for. I used peanut butter with no additives (just ground/creamed peanuts) and even added a few more rolled oats. These didn't set properly, even though I let it roll boil for 2.5-3mins. I'm sure that these are delicious, and the batter itself was yummy, but mine just never set. I'm unsure if I'll try them again because I don't want to waste the ingredients if they aren't going to set again. :(

Perfect! This, from now on, will be my go-to brownie recipe. I love that it is a one pan dessert! Not to mention they were so fudgey but not too sweet!

Honey-Mustard Baked Chicken

This was a great recipe. The only thing was I added some ginger, a tad more soya sauce, and a bit of regular table mustard. It was fantastic. :)

Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
These turned out exactly like the picture! I always seem to not have any eggs when I want to bake, so this was a great alternative, and I always have plain yogurt on hand. Delicious, chewy, and a perfect amount of sweetness. I did change 2 things - I used all brown sugar instead of 1/2 brow and 1/2 white. I also did 1 cup chocolate chips, and 1 cup walnuts. Other than that, I followed the recipe to a tee, and it was PERFECT! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I was shocked at how much my fiance and I enjoyed these! I was worried about it tasting too much like onion soup mix, but it didn't. I had no problems with the batter sticking, either. My fiance proclaimed this was a remake, so I'll be making it again!

Thighs on Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
I used this as a base tonight, and it worked out really well. I ended up adding chopped garlic along with the onion, and I also added rings of red pepper on top of the rice for the chicken to lay on. I didn't have thighs, but did end up using bone-in breasts and the 40 minute mark was PERFECT. Thanks for this recipe, I'll definitely be using it again!

Stephanie's Best Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
I doubled the pasta sauce as per other commenters, I also used whole wheat bowties (I didn't have any rigatoni), added some corn and sauteed onions, garlic and celery with the chicken. I didn't use half mozza/half cheddar, and just used marble. This was an amazing starting point for a recipe, and my fiance loved it. I will be definitely making this again!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly, minus the frosting (I used traditional buttercream) and the red food colouring. I used a mixture of pink and purple neon food colourings that I had on hand, and the end result was still a lovely deep reddish purple colour. They taste amazing too! I will definitely be using this recipe again!
