Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
Followed the directions almost exactly as they were, except I substituted dried cranberries for raisins. The muffins are delicious - moist and very flavorful. A keeper!

Strawberry/Rhubarb Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
Super delicious and very easy to make. I made my own pie shell and followed the recommendations of other reviewers: added 1 tsp cornstarch, used only 3/4 cup sugar in the filling, only 6 tbsp butter in topping. Also added some fresh nutmeg and a little salt in the topping, because I used unsalted butter. Was really tasty! Big hit with our company.

I made these to bring to a friend's house. They didn't make it to the next day. Delicious recipe and very easy to follow.

Purple Plum Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
This was a super easy and super delicious recipe. I didn't have four cups of plums, so I used 1 1/2 cups of blueberries to make the four cups of fruit. The topping was crunchy and tasty, and the filling was tasty without being overly sweet.

Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
This recipe was so simple to make, and it was such a big hit at the pot luck soup day we had at work. I would definitely make this again. I didn't have peas, but I did have fresh mushrooms and added them instead. Very tasty!

Super recipe! Really easy and delicious. I substituted fat free yogurt for the buttermilk and it still came out great! Big hit with the family.

Ham and Onion Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Tasty pie, but I would increase the eggs and cream next time - I would double them to four eggs and 2/3 cup of cream. I would have liked it to taste more like a quiche. I think the eggs and cream would have brought all of the other ingredients together more. I gave the dish four stars because I still thought the tastes were great, and it's an excellent way to use left-over ham. I used some herbed goat cheese in addition to the cheddar cheese because I didn't have enough cheddar cheese left from Christmas. Nice blending of tastes.

Jewish Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
Super easy to make and tasted delicious. Coated the apples in the brown sugar as directed by other reviewers. Cake came out beautifully from the pan. My cake cooked in under 60 mins - about 55 mins. Watch your cooking time the first time you make it. Would definitely recommend as a recipe and will definitely make again, many times. Note: batter is very thick. It's not a mistake in the measurements!
