Sweet Pork for Burritos

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
It was a nice change from other pulled pork I've tried. The smell while it cooked was nice but the sweetness of it took a little to get used to.I think it's because I've never had anything cooked with cola and my tastebuds weren't used to it ,but in the end I must say it was very yummy. My husband loved it and my son ate it too so that tells me it's a keeper.

Moroccan Cooked Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Great recipe. I didn't add green olives since I didn't have any but I did substitute it with a teaspoon of sundried tomato pesto. But even without that it would still be a great tasty side veggie dish.

Al Capone Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Awesome roast for a quick weeknight meal or a busy Sunday. My husband isn't a fan of olives but he said he didn't even taste them and that it was tasty. Warning: If you don't like prosciutto, mortadella and olives I'd say stay away from this recipe and look for something else.

Ham with Honey and Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Ok this ham recipe tastes great but I did modify a little because I did not have oranges. I used blood oranges which made my syrup red but very flavourful. Also I baked my ham with the lid on it so my glaze did not reduce in the oven like it was intended to. I had a thin sweet gravy at the end of baking ,but the meat was so tender that way that I think it was a good mistake on my part.

Slow Cooker Lentils and Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
Was expecting a thick lentil soup but it wasn't and that was fine with us. It was tasty and filling anyways.Cooked split dhal lentils for 6 hours with extra celery and carrots. Also used only 1 1/2 lbs of sausage.

Pork Normandy

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
Awesome recipe.Tenderloin was moist and tender.Shredded with a fork. I baked for 40 minutes and didn't have heavy cream so I substituted with sour cream and it worked well. Also I did not blend the onions and apples in the sauce since we like it this way.

Tuna Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Ok I rated this 4 star because I added more seasoning to make it 5 star for us. As a basic recipe, it is very good but adding garlic salt, dried dill and a handful of extra old orange cheddar to the liquids made it explode with flavour. Oh and I used crumbled ritz crackers for topping.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I halved the recipe to fit a 9x5 loaf pan. This is my first time baking a pound cake and it turned out dense and very heavy, like a brick. Not sure if it is suppose to be like that ,but it was sweet and still tasty with berries. Tasted like shortbread according to my husband. The only difference I would do next time, is baking it for 50min at 325 since 60 min seemed to start burning the sides and the cake had a very thick crust.

Gramma's Old Fashioned Chili Mac

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was a fast and yummy for a week night recipe. The only change I did was using fresh hot house tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes and added some chili powder. I did not add the sugar.I'm glad I didn't add it because the recipe was just sweet enough for me without it.

Buffalo Chicken Wings III

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
Very tasty. Halfway between a buffalo and barbeque. My wife was a little light on the cayenne but this was a great wing even mild, and would be terrific with some kick. Update Apr.18: Had some sauce leftover and kept it frozen for over a month.Thawed it and followed recipe. My husband found them spicier now then when I had just made then originally. So from now on, I will make the sauce a week in advance so that all the spiciness blends in and intensifies.

Chicken Coconut Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Very good recipe.I didn't give it a 5 star because I had to add some salt and a bit of spiracha hot sauce to give it a more well rounded flavour. But definitely not bland without my add-ins as some users said.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This is a great oil and vinegar dressing.Full of flavour and you can play with the spices to suit your liking.I love the recipe as is and actually let it sit 24 hours before using. With crumbled feta it is awesome.

Plum Blueberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This was a really nice moist cake and the fruits were cooked just right.I had pluot plums on hand so that is what i used.Mine turned out more purple ish in colour than pink but it still looked and tasted delicious! With every recipe i do,I have to lower the temp down a little.Baked mine at 325 because my oven really heats up.Took only 45 minutes to bake

Tomato Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
WOW! I grew up eating pepper steaks and I can say this is the best (sorry mum!).I've tried many recipes and none came close to this tasty recipe.I followed the recipe exactly except for one thing, I added a touch more salt just cause I LOVE salt. It has lots of veggies and not too much fat so I would say very healthy for the whole family.
