About this Cook
I've been a nurse for about 24 years, and now teach a CNA course in a medical school. I guess I am what they call a metrosexual these days. A straight man that enjoys doing traditionally female things such as cooking etc.
My favorite things to cook
Depends on my mood. I like to bake breads and make my spaghetti sauce. I also like to do home canning.
My cooking triumphs
No specific things I can think of. They usually involve taking whatever I can find and putting it together in to something everyone loves.
My cooking tragedies
Haven't had too many, but the one that sticks out in my mind is when I tried to make fondant....The Cake Boss I am not!

Chinese Pepper Steak
This is sooo good! I used twice as much meat sliced very thin. I used two bell peppers, and two yellow onions sauteed, tripled the sauce, and put the raw meat, and sauce in to the pan with the peppers/onions and a cup of water to make more sauce. I cooked it on med. high until the beef was cooked and the sauce thickened.

Donut Muffins
OMG these are good!! I wish I could give them 10 stars! I didn't change a thing. Only one problem....I can't stop eating them!

Juicy Roasted Chicken
This was wonderful! I changed it a little by adding a halved onion, 2 jumbo cloves of garlic, with the celery to the cavity along with the margarine. I sprinkled the top with about 1/2 Tbs of rosemary. It took a little longer to get the core temp up to 180 degrees but it was very juicy. I served it with roasted potatoes, carrots, onion, and brussell sprouts. I also made a country pepper gravy
