About this Cook
I am a wife and mother. I love to cook for my family and try new things. I have always loved to cook, my mom started to teach me when I was very young. I have yet to share recipes on here because like my mother I don't measure anything unless I am following a recipe.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake even though I don't like sweets that much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have three major cooking occasions in my family. Thanksgiving, Christmas and our family reunion. My mom, dad and I do the largest part of the cooking for all three occasions for the whole family. I can not pick a favorite tradition they are all good.
My cooking triumphs
There are so many, I think all the cakes I have made for my son ( for birthdays ) and the one cake I did for a good friends baby shower are the most rewarding things I have done.
My cooking tragedies
Well I blew up an egg once. I really wanted deviled eggs but I like them warm and at the time ( I was maybe 14 ) I was to lazy to put some eggs on to boil. We had tuna salad the night before and had boiled eggs left over so I reheated them in the microwave and went I tried to cut the first egg it popped. Eggs was every where. lol Not a mistake I made ever again.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
We love this recipe. I usually do cookies for my father and husband for Christmas to take to work but this year I am WAY to pregnant to mess with all that. So I thought I would do bread instead. I followed the recipe for the most part. I used 3 tsps of vanilla instead of 2 and used pecans instead of walnuts ( I have never had walnuts in banana bread ). I used a mini loaf pan instead of regular sized loaf pans and baked for 18-20 minutes. I re greased the pan and dusted with the sugar and cinnamon mixture for each batch and used about 1/4 of a cup batter for each mini loaf cavity. These came out prefect sized to fit into little treat bags after they cooled completely. They are absolutely delicious: very moist, not to sweet.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
These were excellent and fun to make. If you like them really sweet you may want to add some more sugar to the batter. I liked them because they weren't very sweet

Artichoke Spinach Dip
The recipe was great but I thought it had to much of a cream cheese flavor once it was done, I mixed in some home made salsa and it cut down on that flavor and tasted great. Next time I will just cut down on the cream cheese some.
