Quick Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Very good and relatively easy. I had to cook mine longer than 5 minutes per side and I thought it was a tad too lemony but still delicious. I like to make a recipe exactly as stated and then make adjustments. Still I think this is definitely 5 stars and now I can adjust to my own tastes. I did need to add a little bit of corn starch to thicken the sauce but just a small amount. Maybe I didn't flour my chicken enough to help that process.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2013
This was very good - exactly as written. I was afraid it wouldn't have much taste but boy was I wrong. The sausage really added a lot of flavor. It was VERY easy to make too, a definite plus!

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
My family loved them. Easy to make. I personally didn't care for the hash browns in them but that is just me - hash browns aren't my favorite. Next time I'll try it without and with more egg just to play around with it. I loved having a muffin cup - perfect for reheating on mornings when you're running out the door.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2013
Very Good Soup. However, this takes much more that 10 minutes of prep. It is well worth it but just know what you are getting into. I made exactly as stated and it needed nothing extra except some salt in my opinion.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

As stated, this is good. We will make again, but this time add some garlic and maybe a little salt. Still, it's very easy and tasty!

Classic Hash Browns

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
Excellent, they tasted light and fluffy and were crispy. The trick was soaking them in the water. If you like crispy hash browns, cook them longer than 5 minutes before flipping. I was a little disappointed that I flipped them at 5 minutes but I just added time to the other side and kept flipping them.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
Incredible! My husband is not a mayo fan and was not excited to try it but he made it as stated and it was fabulous. The mayo makes the dish the best and is not overpowering at all. Thanks for a great recipe!

Becca's Taco Soup

Very good and quick. Made it exactly as stated. For us, it needs a little bit more spice and salt but still it's a great recipe!

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
We thought this was great. I had to add quite a bit more of Bisquick to make the dough thick enough - not sure if Bisquick wasn't the right kind of biscuit mix or not, but I just added enough to make it into a thick, clumpy dough and voila - the dumplings were great. I would recommend more salt though. We had to add quite a bit after it had cooked and I'd rather add a little bit more during cooking so it has good flavor overall without being salty. Thanks for the great recipe. I've never made chicken and dumplings before and I won't look further for a different recipe.

Very good. Gravy - who would have thought! Next time I will try a spicier enchilada sauce but overall it was very good!

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
My first time making cornbread from scratch and what a hit. The cooking time did seem off as others mentioned but I didn't catch that until I ran into the problem. So after 20 min with an unset middle, I turned it down to 350 and baked for another 10-15 min. It worked great, no burnt edges and middle was set. Someone mentioned the consistency was moe like cake than cornbread and I agree but I liked it. Not overly sweet either which was a bonus on my opinion.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I thought this was good, but not outstanding. I made this exactly as stated but thought the crust was crunchy but not in a good way. We like more spice so after reading some other reviews here's what I'll try. First under bake the crust a few minutes. Then either add Ro-tel to meat or at least an onion. The recipe is easy and good, just needs a little change for us to be 5 stars.

Beef Au Jus

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
I thought this was good. I'm not a big fan of au jus but the other people thought it was great. Tasting it on beef, I thought it was good. Tasting it alone, I thought it was bland but again, I'm not a big fan of au jus. I just knew I had to make it for the meal I was serving so this recipe was great for that.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
I've been making pumpkin seeds for years and mostly winging it. Sometimes using butter, sometimes olive oil. This recipe was great - took all of the guess work out. They weren't too chewy or overdone either.

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
This was really good. I'm not a huge potato fan but this was great. We make something similar without the potatoes and it is also good. They both have different flavors. I expected this to be bland but it wasn't. The meat flavors it well. I crisped up my potatoes quite a bit but in the final cooking, they became soft so it didn't look nearly as pretty as the pictures but it was definitely good. My husband had 3 helpings and all of the kids ate it too!

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
Awesome flavor. This was so good. I used Chef John's Perfect Prime Rib cooking times because we were out of the house for church and the times on his recipe were easier to work around but this recipe's seasonings seemed like a winner and they were. Best flavor ever!

Chef John's Perfect Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
My roast was a little underdone. It was hard for me to gauge this because I cooked two 6 pound roasts. I didn't want to calculate the roast as if it was 12 pounds, because they were 2 separate roasts but cooking them for the 6 pound times was not enough either. Flavor was awesome though! Can't wait to try again.
