Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
this is really good..I sauteed the mixture first to ensure it was cooked through as my rhubarb was rather large. It was great!

Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
When I make this dish, I saute the butter with onion, the carrot, squash, zucchini. Then I add the sourcream and soup and stir well over low heat until combined. Then I add the stuffing and mix thoroughly. I transfer to a baking dish and bake. I don't like the cheese on top personally. I think this is a really good dish, but this recipe doesn't put it together that well.

Italian Kale

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
We did not care for this recipe. I did not have balsamic though - I used red wine vinegar - so maybe that is my fault. It was just bitter and not very yummy. My husband wouldn't eat it.

Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
My Husband LOVES this meal. It is really easy too which is great for me. I don't change anything - just add a little parmesan cheese. Very good and very easy.

Bland. Needs extra - a little garlic, onion powder, even just a bit of red pepper.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Not flavorful enough. Still good, but I will add more cheese and some more italian seasoning next time. Also want to play with the crust a bit....my bread dough puffed up a bit...wasn't as dense as I would have preferred.

Best Darn Minestrone Soup Around

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This was good - made a bit too much, more than only me and my husband could eat....took for lunches and ate for dinner, but got a bit tired of it after a couple of days.

Pecan Turtle Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
So this was yummy, but i had to make several changes many of which are mentioned in other reviews. This included almost doubling the caramel mixture, and adding extra butter to the crust. The chocolate chips do not melt correctly either - no matter what i tried. I would re-do it with a double boiler to get them melted correctly. They were yummy once i got them done, but it needed way to much adjustment.

Insanely Easy Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
This is very good cranberry sauce. It was a bit high on cinnamon for me, but my family did like it. This recipes make a large quantity - so there were a lot of leftovers - a little too many left overs. The wine is a nice tough though. I also used dried cherries as fresh cherries are tough to come by in Pennsylvania in the winter.

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
This recipe is really great and pretty simple too. The white sauce adds a nice touch of creaminess. I also don't like the texture mac n cheese takes on many times when reheated, but this was great re-heated. It was perfect for work lunches! I didn't make any changes to it. Hubby loved it too.

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
These were excellent. I made them for work lunches so the mini-style suited tupperware well. The sauce on top of the meatloaf is great, and I added a few extra oats for healthy fiber. I also accidentally used old-fashioned oats, not quicking cooking ones, and it didn't make a bit of difference. They were still delicious.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
This was another big Thanksgiving meal hit! My family loved it. It is pretty easy to make, although my sweet potatoes took forever to bake until soft enough to mash. I had to double the length of baking time for them. I did add a few canned sweet potatoes for nice color. This recipe makes a large portion as well. Had a lot of leftovers. But they were yummy even as a quick snack or to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
If I could give this more than five stars I would. This is so simple to make and my guests did not stop raving about it at Thanksgiving. I spent hours making a fancy pie and they wanted this simple pudding instead. In fact they even requested I bring the leftovers to another family gathering the next night. This was a big hit!

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
These were a big hit on Halloween night! They were time consuming though, becuase they were not nearly crispy enough after the stated baking time. I cooked them significantly longer to ensure they were crispy. I also elevated them on a rack over a baking sheet as some other posters mentioned - so they were laying in the drippings. The end result was delicious - but definitely required more bake time.
