Banana Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
They are so good! The changes I made were as follows... 1/2 c. bran + 1/2 c. wheat germ, 1/2 c. pearsauce instead of oil, 3 T. ground flax meal, and 1 tsp. sea salt. Very moist and filling. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hearty Multigrain Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
This was a great start to yummy bread. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I altered the recipe. I replaced the water and dry milk with 3/4 c. whole milk. I used 2 T. butter and replaced the sugar with 3 T. honey and 2 T. molasses. Also, I ground all the seeds in a clean coffee grinder for about 8 seconds before I added them to the flours. Since I didn't use a bread machine, I combined the flours, seeds, salt and yeast. Then I heated the liquid ingredients to 115 degrees and stirred it into the dry mix. I let the dough rest for 20 mins. before kneading for 5. Then it took 2 hours for the dough to rise. I shaped it and gave it another hour to rise again. It baked at 350 for 30 mins., and was the most beautiful loaf I've made in a long time. Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

This recipe was way too rich! My husband loves rich chocolate ice cream, but he couldn't even finish a couple scoops of this.

The Best Valentine Sugar Cookies

My new favorite! These were very tender and lightly sweetened. I used butter flavored shortening and vanilla (instead of almond). Yummy!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

What a great recipe! I only made 2 loaves, but they were the perfect size for sandwich bread. If you choose to do this, you need to bake them for about 45 minutes.

Zucchini Yogurt Multigrain Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
What a great idea! My 2-year-old son loves these! I didn't have any oat flour, so I ran some in my food processor until they were a flour-like consistency. These freeze well, too!

Eggnog II

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2004
What a super simple but superb recipe! The only things I did different is to strain the egg mix before you chill it (to get out those lovely membranes). I also stirred in 1 tsp. of nutmeg before serving. Shake the nog up every time before serving and be careful about heating the egg mix, or you'll get a bowl of scrambled eggs in milk (like I did :)).

This recipe turned out GREAT!!! I used grated mild cheddar cheese instead of the pimento loaf, and i set the whirls and sauce on top of freshly steamed vegetables. I will definately use this recipe again. :)
