About this Cook
I am a vegetarin and avid baker. I work in Boston, recently got married and have a cat named Cunningham. My hobbies include reading, cross stitching, making cards, and collecting nail polish, bandaids, bookmarks and pens. (I admit, my collections are a bit quirky.)
My favorite things to cook
I love baking - especially cookies! I was never really good at cooking, just baking, but I'm trying.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We cook up a nice vegetarian feast every Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
I made a four layer chocolate cake for my husband's birthday and every bit of it was made from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
I baked a cake for a co-worker's birthday. The recipe said "no egg yolks" but a bit managed to get into the batter. The cake came out really flat, but it still tasted ok.

Boardwalk Quality Maple Walnut Fudge
Wow. And fudge is normally way down on my list of go-to sweets. I made this for someone as a gift and was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. The texture is very smooth and it cut up into amazing little cubes so easily! I added an extra 1/2 tsp of extract and toasted the walnuts. Hello delicious!

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World
I only used one package of burger crumbles and frozen corn in place of canned.

Veggie Pot Pie
Really good! I made this into 6 mini-pies (see picture) and did use more cornstarch (5 tablespoons). I don't like mushrooms so I substituted with frozen peas which turned out fantastic. I'll definitely make again and again. Perfect with the roasted garlic potatoes recipe and some cranberry sauce!
