Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
I needed a quick taco seasoning mix to add to the Slow Cooker Taco Soup found on this website. Made this exactly as instructed, with all spices shown. It was the perfect amount for seasoning, proportions are right and is equivalent flavor to a 1.25 oz package of commercial taco seasoning mix.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: May 18, 2012
This is fabulous! I made this 3 times since discovering two weeks ago. Read other comments, and used only 2 Tablespoons of olive oil. Highly recommend using a good quality balsamic vinegar and use fresh garlic, as using a bargain brand balsamic (Walmart) and preminced garlic from a jar (Costco), while still good, did not yield the fabulous flavor. Everyone that tasted this has asked immediately for the recipe! Thank goodness I can refer them to Allrecipes website!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
I brown the beef (or turkey) with the taco seasoning together. Use a crockpot liner before adding the ingredients saves cleanup. Since everything is already "cooked", I have also just added it all together in a large pot on the stovetop and served as soon as it was hot. It is an excellent "warm-up" soup with lots of good things in it for you. We also add the tortilla strips and cheese and sour cream dollop for extra flavor. Top with a few chopped scallions for color.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2013
Watched the video first. Very helpful! Just took this out of the oven. It looks and smells delicious. Only change was to use 6 apples as I only had an 8" pie pan. I did line a cookie sheet and put it under the pan. Caught all the delicious caramel that oozed out during baking, then added back on top of the pie. Can't wait to taste!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
I've been unsuccessfully making pancakes for 40 years--but that is now changed! This recipe, just the way it is, turned out perfect. Pancakes are truly fluffy, light and delicious! Goodbye Bisquick & Krusteaz!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2014
Loved this recipe and will use it again. Used a regular muffin pan, cupcake liners, filled 3/4 full and added just a teaspoon or so of topping. Didn't stick and came out with a simple knife run around the edges. My observations: There is twice as much topping as needed. I used coconut oil, but it hardened when adding the egg and the milk. Next time, I would warm the milk enough to keep the coconut oil as a liquid. Eat within a couple days as they tend to get a little stale and the topping loses its crunch. (At least that's my justification!)
