I'm a southern girl who was raised by and around many amazing cooks. Over the years I feel like I have developed my own style of cooking and now I like to share my "feel of food" with the world.
My favorite things to cook
I am absolutely a full time dessert craver. By no means am I the healthiest eater on the planet, but I don't cook my favorites all the time. My favorite thing to make would be any sweet fried bread like recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is full of grillers, friers, bakers, and cake makers. Every man in my immediate family feels that they are the best at grilling and I must say I enjoy their cookout competitions. I have an aunt who can deep fry anything and make it taste different but still delicious, so almost every Friday night (mostly during the summer) we sit out in my back yard and eat a few fried appetizers and margaritas. Cake and cookie baking is something that only my grandmother and I share. I spend some Sundays in her kitchen helping her bake what she calls "The best cakes this side of the Mississippi."
My cooking triumphs
I am amazed when I make it through a recipe and it tastes anything near edible. Though I haven't had too many flubbs, you never know what your kitchen will have in store for you. I've just moved into a house of my own where my kitchen is very different from what I was used to but surprisingly I am adjusting well without having to throw everything out.
My cooking tragedies
I have to say I haven't had many upsets which is always a shocker to me. But I have had a few injuries just from not being cautious.
