Pecan Pie

This is the best pecan pie I think I've ever made! My husband loves pecan pie, and he definitely approved of this one. The flavor is absolutely excellent. I didn't change it much, but I did use a 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1 1/4 of white, which I think gave it a slightly richer flavor. It seemed to have a hard crust on top once it had cooled, but when we cut into it, the filling was baked to exactly the right consistency. One tip: I don't like making pie crusts, and I found that this filling fits perfectly into one Marie Callendar deep dish crust.

Whole White Wheat and Honey Chocolate Chip Cookies

** VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ** I took a look at this recipe, and was really surprised at all the trouble people are having with it. Instead of spreading all over the place, these cookies should be rather cake-like, and they shouldn't spread much at all. I then looked at the recipe, and realized there's a typo - YOU NEED TO USE 2 1/4 CUPS OF WHITE WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, NOT 1 CUP!! I have no idea how this typo crept in - I can't imagine that I would have submitted it that way, but who knows? Maybe I did. I'll try to get the site to fix it. Thanks!

Run For The Roses Pie III

Very good recipe - I used pecans instead of walnuts, and I found that in my (gas) oven it took about 45 minutes to bake. I actually made two of these pies, one using vanilla instead of bourbon, and discovered that both tasted equally good. Thanks for the recipe - it's definitely a keeper!

Overnight Coffee Cake

I LOVE this recipe! Easy to mix up and great to be able to bake it in the morning with no fuss. I brought this into work (still warm from the oven) for a coworker's going away party. Everybody enjoyed it!

Allspice Cream Cheese Frosting

Very good frosting! I used it with the Lite Carrot Cake recipe also at this site. I used 2-8 ounce packages of Neufchatel cream cheese, and instead of allspice I just used cinnamon. Frosting turned out very creamy, and not as thick as regular cream cheese frosting. Everyone loves it!

Lite Carrot Cake

Excellent recipe! I made it last night and brought it in today for a coworker's birthday, and everyone loves it. Hard to believe it's low-fat. I added about 1/2 cup of pecans to the recipe, as well as a dash of nutmeg and cloves. I frosted it with the allspice (used cinnamon instead of allspice) cream cheese frosting recipe found on this site (using 2-8 ounce blocks of Neufchatel cream cheese). Great flavor!

Best Buckwheat Pancakes

These are great pancakes - love the flavor, and they bake up nice and fluffy. My husband and I like a more pronounced buckwheat flavor, so I use only 2 tbsp. white flour, and use about 10 tbsp. (a little less than 3/4 cup) buckwheat flour. Thanks for this recipe!!
