Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
This was very easy and very tasty. I followed the recipe almost exactly. I used spiral noodles because I don't like egg noodles. I also added mushrooms since we love them on our pizza. I also didn't put in the milk. Didn't have it on hand and didn't see why I needed it. Even the leftovers were very good, maybe even better since the flavors had time to meld together. Definitely will make it again.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
This was fabulous. I followed the recipe almost to a T. I left out the green onions and olives due to preference. Other than that kept everything as written. I will say that it is very labor intensive but the end product was fantastic. I actually prepared the chicken the night before and then finished everything up the next day. It kind of helped to breakup the work time. I'd definitely recommend this recipe to anyone.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This was pretty good but a little salty. If I make it again, I'd definitely try to cut down on some of the salt. I also couldn't get it to thicken up like I'd liked it to. I ended up using quite a bit of cornstarch, which I think gave it a strange consistency. It still tasted good but looked funny. I'll have to try it again to see if I did something wrong the first time. Still tasted great though!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
As written this recipe is just ok. I can't imagine a fried rice recipe without sesame oil, which I ended up substituting for the vegetable oil. It definitely gives it a little more of an asian flair. Other than that, I'd watch the amount of pepper you put in it. 1 teaspoon seems like a lot. I don't always use chicken when I make it. I actually love to make it with ham. MY godmother from Taiwan always made it that way and it's how I'm used to fried rice.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
For as is, this is an pretty good recipe. I just used some Miller Lite because to be honest, I didn't want to waste one of my more expensive beers on something that I might not like. I actually thought it tasted really good. It is a very dense bread, which I wasn't really expecting. I did like it a little better when I melted butter over the top with a little garlic salt.

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This stuff if phenomenal. My babysitter use to make it for me when I was little and I love making it for my nephews when they come over. It's a great way to get them to eat more fruit! I think it is wonderful as is, but I also enjoy switching up the cream cheese with a flavored cream cheese like strawberry or blueberry. It just gives it something a little extra.

Taco Seasoning

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Such a great recipe and super easy. Definitely better than buying the stuff from the store. I love that there isn't any salt in the recipe since so often there is a ton in the store bought stuff, and this recipe proves you don't need it.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Such a great snack! I used Pam olive oil to coat the leaves, I think it is much easier and you're able to coat it more evenly. You can mix up the seasonings to your taste. I found it easier to cut the leaves off last by taking the knife to go up and around the stem.

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
I tried this recipe twice and I just can't seem to get them to work. They tend to spread out a lot and then get thin and crispy. Very strange since if anything I'm a better baker than cook so I'm not sure what the hang up is with the recipe. I may try another recipe next time (usually only makes these around the holidays) and hopefully I'll have some better luck.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This was the simplest yet most delicious corned beef I've ever had! I threw it in the crock pot for about 8-9 hours and it was absolutely perfect. We made rueben's along with the Thousand Island II recipe from this site which was one of the best meals I've ever had. I would recommend not using the spice packet it your meat comes with it. We got our from a butcher so it didn't have the seasoning but I'd imagine it'd change the flavor quite a bit and it is perfect as is.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This is a good base recipe, but I needed to doctor it up a bit to suit our tastes. While I may keep looking for a different recipe, if you aren't afraid to try adjusting the ingredients I think this could be a wonderful recipe.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Phenomenal marinade. I love that the ingredients are usually items that I always have on hand (except the fresh citrus, which is a must in this recipe). It smelled so great coming off the grill and was super moist and tasted great!.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Definitely a wonderful recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except I only used 1 can of black beans. Like many others I think 2 would take the spotlight away from the quinoa, which I'd prefer to have as the majority in the dish. Tastes great hot and cold. I love making a big batch and eating for lunch the whole week. Definitely a keeper.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
This recipe was awesome. I made it for Christmas dinner and everyone raved about it. I followed the ingredients to a T, it was spot on. I followed other reviewers advice by cooking it for 12 minutes at 460 degrees, then 8 minutes at 400 degrees, and finally 325 for about 17 minutes per pound. Pulled it out when the meat thermometer registered 135 and let it sit for about 20-25 minutes. It was a perfect medium throughout the entire roast.

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2013
I followed the recipe to a T. I used Ghiradelli chocolate since several reviews said to use a high quality chocolate. It tasted ok. The molten part was very good, but the cake part tasted like it was missing something. It didn't seem sweet enough almost (if that's possible considering how much sugar was in it). It just wasn't my taste, but it definitely was easy. I baked one to test it out and did 10 minutes and it was almost baked through. Put one in for 8 minutes and it was perfectly molten.

Baked Potato Dip II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
Wonderful but definitely salty. Didn't change anything and it was a hit at the BBQ. You could definitely cut down on some of the ranch packet to try to cut the salt, but I think by just reading the ingredients it's evident it is to be a salty dip. Regardless, there wasn't any left by the end of the night. It also holds over well the next few days in case you don't finish it the day of.

Spanish Flan

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
I never had flan before, so I don't have anything to base the after-product against, but it was delicious! The only thing I did differently was increase the eggs to 4 and use a water bath to bake it in. It was so simple and delicious. I didn't have problems with the caramel, but I have made dozens of batches for Christmas candy. It took me about 20 minutes to melt the dry sugar but once the sugar wasn't lumpy it was the perfect coppery-color you want. I'll definitely be making this again.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
Such a great recipe! I didn't change much, just added an egg to the cheesecake mixture. I think it give it a better texture. I also omitted the almonds for personal preferences. This is super simple to make and such a hit at potlucks. Definitely recommend.

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
This recipe was awesome and super simple. The only things I did differently was poke holes in the cake right when it got out of the oven and I poured the caramel and condensed milk right onto the cake without mixing them together on the stove (why create more dirty dishes?). Took it to a family reunion, it was the only dessert touched. Definitely will make again!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

This dish is simple comfort food. I followed the directions exactly as stated and it turned out great. I loved the shredded parm on top, it gave it a nice crunchy texture. Definitely recommend.
