Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
This is a wonderful basic potato soup. I tripled the recipe and cut the salt to 2 1/2 tsp. I only used 2 large onions and I also opted to leave out the Rosemary and Thyme. My entire family loved it, which is no small feat. Thaks for the recipe!

Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
The dough for this cinnamon rolls is the best I've made, hands down. However, I was worried they would not be sweet enough and added more sugar in the filling and increased the amount of frosting I used. I wished I had not done that. They are very sweet, and I'm sure the orignal recipe would've been perfect. Oh well, live and learn! Next time, I will make these exactly as written.

No Roll Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Really good, easy pie crust. I used this for a chicken pot pie I made for Sunday dinner and it was perfect. I doubled the recipe and followed another reviewers suggestion to roll the dough out between two sheets of plastic wrap for the top crust.

Bean with Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Wonderful bean with bacon soup. I did cut the bacon in half, as I felt 1 pound was a bit too much, and I omitted the cloves. I will make this often! Thanks for the great recipe.

Chicken Noodle Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
Wow! This made a ton of soup! I did use ready made noodles instead of making my own, otherwise I followed the recipe. It was a very satisfying chicken noodle soup. Will make this again.

"Pantry Raid" Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: May 31, 2013
We really loved this recipe! I did have to make some changes due to what I had on hand. Instead of tenderloins I used three large chicken breasts. I cut them into cubes, browned them, then added the tomato sauce and spices. I cut the chili powder back to 1 teaspoon, due to personal preference. I completely skipped shredding the chicken (which saved me a step, and wasn't necessary since I had already cut the chicken in cubes). I had to use dark red kidney beans instead of black beans and cheddar cheese instead of the Mexican blend. I didn't have a 9X9 pan either, so I used a 9X13 pan. I doubled the cornbread topping, due to the larger size of my casserole, and it worked out well. I will be making this again! Thanks!

Turkey and Stuffing Casserole

Reviewed: May 31, 2013
My husband loved this. I liked it. I just found it a bit too salty. Next time I will use reduced salt soups and see if that makes a difference. A nice hearty recipe, though, and very easy to make.

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
A really great recipe. I didn't change a thing and the cookies came out perfect. I had been using another recipe from this site, but I liked this one better. I will be using it from now on.

Southern Butter Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I knew this recipe was good because it is the roll recipe my sister always uses. I had to make it twice to get it right, but the second time gave me great results. I used the amount of salt called for the first time I made them, and found them way too salty. The second time I made them, I cut back to 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt. I also subbed butter for the shortening (and my sister usually uses canola oil). I also used warm water instead of cold water in the recipe to save on rising time. My husband and youngest daughter really liked them (as did I)!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
This cornbread had wonderful texture. It was really moist and not that crumbly. I do think the flavor was missing something, though. Perhaps it needed a little salt?
