Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2003
I hate to sound disappointed, but I certainly was with this dish. It's possible I did something wrong, although I was very careful to follow the recipe to a T. The salmon was moist, but the flavors didn't seem to go together. I think it was the pecan and dijon flavors that clashed. My kids wouldn't even eat it after the first bite. Oh well, just an expensive mistake.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2003
This was quite delicious. The flavor was great, my only problem was with the consistency of the sauce. It was thin and runny. Once it cooled off, it did thicken up, and began to stick to the linguine nicely. I'd recommend not serving immediately, to allow for thickening. Also, my children don't care for onions, so I put broccoli in it instead. They loved it! Thanks!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2002
I absolutely LOVE this bread!! It came out totally delicious! I made two loaves instead of three, and also had to cook mine for about an hour and twenty minutes. I was very impressed with the ease I had in slicing this bread. It held together better than any bread I have ever made. Thanks for the great recipe!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2002
This bread is so delicious. I found it to be very easy to prepare. My whole family loved it. I was also very happy with the texture, it didn't crumble like some breads do when slicing.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2002
I'm not a fan of bread puddings because of the mushy texture I have tasted in the past, but I wanted to give it another try. This was very easy and came out quite tasty. Even my kids who are extremely fussy eaters liked this.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2002
I LOVE these cookies. I wasn't sure about them at first because the dough seemed so sticky and I felt like I had to add more flour, but they came out so chewy and delicious. They will definately become a regular around my house! Thanks!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2002
I have never made scones before and only just tried one recently. I'm not very good at rolling out dough, so I wasn't sure how they would come out. I was pleasantly surprised. They tasted really good. I did however have to cook them close to 30 minutes.

Buttermilk Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2002
The aroma of this bread cooking smelled delicious. I didn't put anything extra in the batter as suggested, because my kids don't care for nuts or raisins. This bread tasted good plain, but would probably be even better with some walnuts and raisins.

Sour Cream Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2002
My family enjoyed this casserole. It had a good flavor to it, and was easy to assemble. My only complaint would be that it is very rich and there seems to be quite a bit of leftover sauce.

Buttermilk Cornbread Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2002
These corn muffins were pretty good. I have found that alot of recipes are bland and dry. This wasn't as dry as most, but not really moist either. The honey helped to sweeten them slightly, but I don't feel they were as sweet as I would have liked.

Hearty Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2002
I was looking for an interesting tuna casserole recipe that didn't use mixed vegetables or condensed soup. This one called for zucchini which I don't usually make and it sounded good. Well, it was delicious! My family went back for seconds. I will now be making this dish often!
