Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
Yummm! Yummm! Super easy and the texture is wonderful. It maintains its cookie structure, but still gives you a soft cookie. Cutting the recipe in half made 20 perfect cookies. I normally like my chocolate chip cookies warm, but these are best when completely cooled. Enjoy!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
I never thought to add cream of chicken soup to my dumplings, but it made the dish the perfect texture/thickness. My grandmother and mother used refrigerated biscuits, so thats what I grew up on and the only dumplings my kids like. It worked out really well in the slow cooker and the family loved it. Thanks!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I tried this twice and just couldn't get it right. The flavor of the batter is wonderful, but my final product left a lot to be desired. The first attempt fell. I thought it might have been the cake flour I used, so I tried again with regular flour. The second attempt was a little better, but not much. Both seemed to be very eggie for me. I like a heavy cake, but this was too much. However my husband liked it. I'll try one of the variations next time.

Sour Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I like the hint of lemon. This is suited for pouring over rolls, turnovers or a bundt cake. It makes a lot. Half is enough. This is now my goto for a quick icing. Update: I was making this (again) to pour over Christmas cookies and realized there is most likely a typo in the ingredients. I'm wondering if the 2 3/4 cups of sugar should be 2 3/4 lbs. That would account for why the photo doesn't match my end product. However I will continue to make the thinner version. Its quick, easy and we love it.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I was talked into a chili cookoff and received very positive feedback. I picked this recipe to start with. In addition to the ingredients listed, I added the following: 1 lb of regular sausage, 6 oz tomato sauce, an extra chile and celery stalk. For the bacon I used 2 slices and let the onion and garlic heat in the drippings while I was prepping the rest. I didn't have beer, but didn't miss it. I made it in the slow cooker the evening before and just put the crock in the frig at bedtime. It reheated nicely and I think even improved the next day. The spice combination is very nice and I like all the veggies which provided a nice texture and presentation.
