Cool Whip Cookies

definitely a cake like cookie, but HEY, whe n you're using a cake mix I guess that's a natural. I found it too difficult to take the sticky thick dough and roll it in confectioners sugar so I dusted the cookie with 10X after baking. You don't get the crackle look but the taste is still there. You could call these cookies muffin tops and for those of you who are Seinfeld fans, this is a good basis for a black and white cookie...just mix up two batches of icing one choco and one vanilla and brush half the cookie with each...Look to the Cookie!

Best Lemonade Ever

I made it following the recipe...TERRIFIC! Then, because of dietary issues and a diabetic friend, made it with Splenda® using same amount as sugar in recipe. This is excellent and I make it that way all the time now.

Foolproof Rib Roast

This is exactly the same recipe I received from a US Navy mess cook as to how they cook beef roasts for the sailors on board ships. It works perfectly no matter what cut of beef you have...eye round, standing rib, etc. I've even tossed in a frozen eye round early in the AM, followed the 375┬║ directions for 1 hour and left it in the oven untouched for the whole day and when we're ready for dinner, reheated for 15 minutes and the roast was done to perfection. I would guess that if your oven temps are awry, a temperature gauge would be helpful...

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

I read MOST of the more recent reviews before I made this today but when i put the two 1# tenderloins in the slow cooker I followed the recipe exactly. I had heard too mamy people rave about the flavors and the amount of juices for gravy to not give it a try. It is aptly named Amazing and I concur. I will say that i'm aware of the new Dept of Agriculture guidelines for cooking pork to a temp of 145┬║ so after 2 1/2 hours i used an instant read meat thermometer and my meat was DONE. I turned off the slow cooker and kept all in the juices for another hour, took out the meat and made a little thicker gravy with flour/water added to the juices in a saucepan, returning the meat to the slow cooker to just stay warm. BIG HIT with my family when i served it over rice. I would guess that those who thought it was too dry or not cooked enough have issues with their slow cooker. Best tip I can give you? invest in a meat thermometer and you will not be disappointed with under cooked or over cooked meat. Definitely a keeper!

Oven Roasted Parmesan Potatoes

This recipe is the BOMB! I've made it several times now with rave reviews. The last time I made it with it with fingerling potatoes (3#) and the amount of seasoning was spot on. This goes into my recipe file for sure.

This recipe is excellent! Many times when you read the reviews you learn what works even better and this recipe is NO exception. I cooked the potatoes separately in a toaster oven...cooked the sausage in an electric skillet and then added the peppers and onions when the sausage was 1/2 done...then added the cooked and browned potatoes to the skillet, covered and let cook on very low for about 10 minutes before serving. OUTSTANDING! the melding of all the flavors made this an awesome dish. Will most definitely add this to the "rotation"!

Sheryl's Baked Potatoes

this is a great recipe and i've made it for a long time. For some reason it's called Hasselback potatoes...and i use as my cutting guide two chopsticks with the potato lying between... If you have an issue with putting the spices etc between the slices then remember to FAN the potato out after you've made your chopstick guided cuts.

Taco Salad I

Did not like this recipe at all. Personally, I think there is no need for the French dressing... Just use taco seasoning to cooked lean meat and add the rest of the ingredients. Optional ingredients to taste would be sour cream & beans...but cheese, onions and taco chips are a MUST to the meat mixture and lettuce...JMVHO...
