Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
So delicious. I added extra ritz topping. I also used about half the cheese, just to lower saturated fat intake. My husband doesn't like that cream of mushroom soup stuff, but he loves this!

Chocolate Glaze I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
Great! And easy. Didn't change a thing!!! Of course it tastes kind of like melted chocolate chips...That is what it is!!! If you would like a more distinct flavor, add some vanilla to it. I personally thought it tasted amazing just as is. I put it on "Grandma's Doughnuts" from this site.. My husband was very impressed..And I had donuts done and made in about 20 minutes.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
My husband is a home-brewer, so we always have lots of beer laying around. This beer bread recipe is a great way to use some of it for something different. The flavor of the beer always comes through (unless you use corona), so there is so much you can do with this basic recipe. It is even nice to use a hard cider & and add some cinnamon for more of a morning bread. When using lagers, I usually add about 1/2 c. of green onion and 3/4-1c c of shredded sharp cheddar, and it is always a hit. Sometimes I melt 1/4 c of butter or margarine and pour it over the bread in the last 5 minutes of baking for a nice buttery, crispy crust. There is no need to buy a box mix!

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
This is DELICIOUS! I doubled the sauce and used 1/2 tsp ginger & 1/2 tsp cayenne in place of Chinese five-spice powder. I also did not use the cornstarch mixture, the sauce thickened up perfectly on it's own. The flavors are great. The orange comes through and tastes so fresh, and balances out this dish. If you don't like spicy food, I would cut down some of the red pepper, because you definitely feel some heat!

Coffee Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
The only thing I did differently was double the coffee, by doing that it has a nice, but not too strong coffee flavor. The frosting is amazing! So fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. I used this on the Black Magic Cake recipe on this site, and it is divine.

Chicken Pot Pie VI

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
Instead of poultry seasoning, I used about of tsp of rosemary, thyme, and sage, and I used canned mushrooms instead of fresh. It was delicious! It is my husband's new favorite meal.

Broccoli Delight Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
I used golden raisins & added about a cup of shredded sharp cheddar, other than that I followed the recipe exactly. It was SOOO good. Everybody ate it up, and I had lots of people ask for the recipe.
