Spinach and Potato Frittata

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Sorry, but I didn't like this at all. The ingredients were bland and boring. More importantly, in comparison with other frittatas that become light and fluffy after being baked in the oven, this one is cooked over the stove the whole time, so it turns out soggy and mushy.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
This was easily one of the best vegetarian chili recipes I've ever tasted, and I've tasted quite a few. One warning -- it is spicy. I only used one jalapeno pepper (instead of two), and slightly less chili powder than the recipe called for. But it was still too spicy for my wife (who is somewhat sensitive to spicy food, but still loved it). I am a HUGE fan of the addition of the veggie burger crumbles -- it added a texture to the dish that you rarely find in vegetarian chili recipes. In short, I will be definitely be adding this one to the rotation.

Gloomy Day Smoothie

Delicious! Add some strawberries for extra flavor. (Not that it really needs it, though -- is excellent as is.)

Mexican Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
The taste was good, but the texture just isn't quite there yet. It's hard to shake the feeling that you're eating a bean sandwich. Sadly, I have yet to find a veggie burger recipe that holds together nearly as well as the packaged ones.

Pecan Pie V

Yum! Tastes just as good as, if not better than, recipes that use corn syrup (blech).

Guacamole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I've always thought this recipe was the best guacamole I'd ever had. One day I made this for an office party. Now, I'm a gringo living in Latin America, but everyone in the office RAVED about it. It quickly disappeared, and our Ambassador (a Puerto Rican) devoured it, claiming it was the best he'd ever had. Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that way!

Sesame Seared Tuna

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
Restaurant quality, without a doubt. Try making this recipe with mashed potatoes, and drizzling the dipping sauce over them and the tuna. Yum!

Best salmon recipe ever, without a doubt. This has so much flavor. Try it with mashed potatoes.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
Delicious! The only thing I did differently was add about 50% more pasta to the macaroni and cheese (otherwise it was about 70% cheese sauce). But it had a wonderful flavor to it. Will most certainly be returning to this recipe in the future.

Poor Man's Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2005
I'd give it 4.5 stars. It's not bad for being exactly what I was looking for -- an easy, flavourful fried rice dish that wouldn't take me all night to prepare. I added shrimp, garlic and red peppers and they were all outstanding additions. Agree that it's the ginger that makes this dish.

Sesame Tuna with Soy Miso Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
I personally love this recipe, but my girlfriend thinks it's a little too salty. She prefers the "sesame seared tuna," also on this website, also excellent. But if you don't mind a little (lot) of miso, I highly recommend this one.

Easy Salmon Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2002
The first time I cooked this recipe, I found it decent but a little bland. On second time I substituted a pound of fresh salmon, poached, for the canned and threw 2 tsps "Old Bay Seasoning" (available in most grocery stores) in the mixture, and found that this worked wonders!
