I am pretty fearless with my cooking. I will try just about anything and I tend to have a pretty good sense about what will work and what won't.
I'm a stay at home mom with two little girls. I do some freelance graphic design and then chase my girls around. Cooking has been more challenging but I'm reclaiming my love for cooking and carving out some time to really spend cooking each day.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking!! I'm a good cook but baking has always been easy for me. Other than that I enjoy stir fry and crock pot recipes and just about any type of food. Cooking and baking are relaxing to me and I love the process of creating something to nourish those I love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have so many memories of my grandmother cooking, especially around the holidays. For the whole month of December she always had spritz cookies in a basket in the kitchen. She has alzheimer's now and has not been able to cook for quite some time but I have inherited her cookie press so I'm continuing the tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I've had many cooking triumphs but one that comes to mind was my first St. Patty's Day (on my own) and I made corned beef boiled in Guinness. I can't remember but I may have gotten the recipe from this site.
My cooking tragedies
I decided to make sloppy joes in my crock pot. The recipe called for browning the meat first, well I browned it a little too much and when we ate later it was just too well done.
