Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2013
This was a really good base recipe. I cooked it as jL suggested (added cornstarch base at end). It turned out great and all ages enjoyed it. Thank you!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
The best apple pie ever! It's very rare that i don't modify a recipe but this recipe, as is, is absolutely the best apple pie I've ever tried. So perfect that I'm afraid that any change would hurt it. Enjoy!

Millet Delight

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
I halved & modified this recipe a bit according to what I had around - 1/2 cup millet, 3 cups whole cow milk, 1/3 cup raisins, 1/4 cup coconut & 1/2 ts. pure vanilla extract. This was easy, quick and the result was a simple, mildly sweet, nutritious & delicious comfort food. I certainly plan on making again and trying variations (including dates & bananas which would add potassium as well). Thank you for sharing this.

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
made this twice. Once exactly according to instructions. The second time, I served it as a stew. I liked it a lot but others thought it was just OK.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
This is a good thick tomato sauce for Pasta. To my surprise, my kids who generally don't go for parsley liked this.

Fabulously Sweet Pear Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I was excited to make this cake and waited till my pears were very ripe. The only change I made was that I used 5 pears instead of 4. As others suggested I took the cake out after 50 minutes and the texture was good but I was expecting a delicious cake with a great aroma and was quite surprised and disappointed to find it had barely any scent or taste and did not suggest any resemblance or memory of pear. Will not make again.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
OMG! This is truly my favorite ice cream. So easy to make the best I've made and the yummiest I've ever had. Note that you have to like mint to enjoy this and make sure to use natural mint extract and not oil or it will be way too intense! Less chocolate chips or chocolate shaves are also fine. Enjoy!

Six Threes Ice Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
This is a pretty good fruit ice cream. Easy to make. I did 'one sixes' in order to fit my kitchenaid ice cream maker. Take note that the order of ingredients is crucial. The first time I made it I added the cream after other ingredients by mistake and the fat separated and it didn't work. Second time round, I whipped the sugar (subtracted a few tablespoons from what called for so that it wouldn't be too sweet) and cream for about two minutes, blended the fruit juices and banana and added them after the milk. the result is a creamy texture, refreshing fruit ice cream. I find the taste pretty good but not superb.
