NTC My Chanel & Me
My favorite apron!
About this Cook
I am a vegetarian living in the middle of nowhere in WI where everyone shoots things and eats them. I love cooking, healthy living, animal welfare, yoga, etc. I have 6 horses, 4 dogs, 4 cats, and a Kahzahkistani hamster named Willow.
My favorite things to cook
Mediterranean and Jewish food. I love cooking for Hanukkah and Passover!! Vegetarian or wild game (for my family since I don't eat meat. People may find this hypocritical but my mom wrecks it so she's since convinced me to take over).
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have any. My grandmother loved to cook everything from scratch and my Uncle's wife was taught by her to cook. We have holidays at my aunt's house and I remember as a child baking endless amounts of cookies for the holidays. My mom doesn't cook unless it involves a microwave lol :)
My cooking triumphs
Quiches. I make the awesomest quiches ever!!!! I also love anything with mushrooms in it. And I am apparently well known for my food's presentation (according to friends anyways).
My cooking tragedies
Omlettes...lol I hate cooking them I either burn them or flip them too early lol Turkish food -I tried to cook a turkish dinner for an ex once and destroyed it lol.

Cream of Mushroom Soup I
I really like it but felt like it was missing something. Next time I think I'm going to make it with mushroom stock and see if it's better. I rarely use Chicken stock in my recipes because I'm a vegetarian but since I made this for my dad I decided to go according to recipe and then try some of it for myself. Also I didn't puree all the mushroom mixture I took about 3/4 cup of the mushroom/onion out and I garnished with a bit of parsley. I also used Crimini, Oyster, and Shiitake mushrooms for about 3 cups and the other 2 Button mushrooms.

Simple Turkey Chili
It was a little spicy but I went a little over kill on the chili powder (2.5 TBS) and 3/4 TSP cayenne pepper and Hungarian Paprika. But it came out delicious even if it is a little spicy :) I like spicy. My family on the other hand doesn't.
