About this Cook
I am a 29 year old registered nurse from Ottawa, Ontario. Cooking and baking are two of my favourite hobbies. Last year my husband was diagnosed with Celiac and I have since been experimenting with making my old recipes gluten-free. It's been a fun challenge to work with new flours and ingredients to make gluten-free food taste great.

Chorizo and Broccoli Rabe Pasta
I took some creative liberty with this recipe. I didn't have any chorizo on hand so I subbed with some spicy merguez sausage. I also added some sundried tomatoes to give the dish a bit more colour, and drizzled some roasted garlic-infused olive oil on the pasta before adding it to the meat and broccoli. Very tasty!! I'll definitely make again!

Oven-Roasted Asparagus
I like to use roasted-garlic infused olive oil, and some crushed red chilies for some zing!!

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II
This frosting is amazing! I had been searching for a good frosting recipe that isn't icing sugar based because I have a lot of diabetics in my family, and this fit the bill. Instead of using 1 cup of white sugar I used 1/2 cup of brown sugar Splenda. I was worried about how well it would thicken up with the smaller amount of sugar, so I cooked it on medium heat and added 1 tbsp cornstarch for good measure. It turned out great! Will definitely make this again!
