About this Cook
I'm a figure skater/ college student majoring in psychology. When applying for schools I very nearly applied to culinary school instead of college. Cooking is a passion of mine and I am always fine tuning recipies I find to make them my own, even at the first attempt.
My favorite things to cook
I love experimenting with salads and soups. Sandwiches are a specialty of mine and I can make a great sandwich with just a few ingredients. I don;t much enjoy baking, but whenever I try it, people rave about my newest creations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every christmas my family(heavily german) makes a bread called stollen and gingerbread from scratch, theres always an abundance of cookies around and no one is ever hungry. My mom and I spend most of December whipping up recipy after recipy of old German cooking passed down from generation to generation.
My cooking triumphs
I make the most amazing onion rings from scratch, which my friends ask for without fail. I made up the recipy off the top of my head and its been a huge success ever since. My lemon squares are something that are quite a hit as well, although I rarely make them due to the huge mess they make. I make an amazing mexican salad from corn salsa (my own recipy), chicken, and a few other things y'all aren't allowed to know. It is to die for.
My cooking tragedies
My only real cooking tragedy per say was when I was just a little girl, about 7 and I was making hashbrowns and started a grease fire in my ignorance. Other than that, my bigest blunder has been mistaking the oven cooking time on a package for the microwave time, incidentally, I caught a burrito on fire in the microwave.

Peach Pie
Delicious. I added blackberries as well to the peach pie, about half a bag of frozen ones. This made enough for 2 pies. Easy as well. Would definitely try making this again.

Apple Strudel
Added twice the cinnimon per advice of another user, also used cranberries instead of currants for an american twist. I cut up the apples with a mandolin for thinly sliced apples. Over all good, but could use a little more oomph.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing
Delicious! The fish on its own is mouth-watering. The fish could be served on its own after marinating, or with the tacos. The sauce is great if you like medium spice, however if you like mild, I advise not using the sauce on it.
