Chinese Cabbage Salad I
Great recipe although I did make some of the adjustments suggested by other reviewers. I decreased the oil to 1/3 cup and decreased the sugar to 1/4 cup. I also added a tablespoon of sesame oil. All of my friends devoured this salad and absolutely raved about it.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce
Very good recipe provided you make some of the adjustments suggested in the comments. I rubbed the chicken with paprika, salt, and pepper before doing anything and let it sit then I sauteed onions, mushrooms, and garlic first and removed them before adding the chicken. I cooked the chicken for about 5 minutes per side because it will continue to cook when simmering. I used a little less than 1/4 cup of brown sugar (and it could have used even less, maybe just a few tablespoons!), added the vegetables back in, and added 1/2 cup wine. After simmering covered for about 15 minutes I thickened the sauce with about a tablespoon of cornstarch. The wine soaked mushrooms and onions were addictive and the chicken was moist and very flavorful. Went well with roasted potatoes and carrots.

Roasted Yam and Kale Salad
The contrast between the kale, the caramelized onions, and the sweet potatoes (the difference between sweet potatoes and yams is negligible in my mind) is fantastic! The flavors really compliment each other and make this simple dish really complex. My roommate wasn't a fan (he's decided he doesn't like kale), but he still picked out the sweet potatoes and ate all of those. I'll definitely be making this dish again, though for just me next time which means I get it eat it all!
