I am a mother of two working full time while my amazing husband stays home to care for the kids. I am just starting to really enjoy cooking, baking on the other hand I have loved for years. This site is really helping me find new ideas.

My specialty is chocolate chip cookies, but now that I have found this site I am a teeny bit obsessed with pies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad, grandma and my brother and I get together every year a few days before Christmas and bake our little hearts out makings cookies and candy for the whole family to enjoy on Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I have recently started making pore and my husband loves the Apple pie I just made :)
My cooking tragedies
Nothing major comes to mind, other than every time I have anything on the stove containing milk I somehow let it boil over! What a mess!

Meatball Sandwich
I loved this meatball recipe. I used 2 eggs and garlic and onion powder to taste, a little salt and pepper and stir brand Italian bread crumbs. I make my own sauce. I also browned the balls before baking for 20 minutes. So good!

Smothered Chicken Breasts
Very good. Next time I'll try chopping the bacon and cooking in a pan with 2 onions and more brown sugar.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
THE BEST APPLE PIE RECIPE!! I have made several recipes and I am always unhappy with how runny the filling is, but this is perfectly gooey every time. I use 5 granny smith and 5 pink lady apples, and I do add 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. I also am not great with the lattice crust so I mix the apples with all of the filling and use my regular crust, brush it with milk and sprinkle with about 2 tbls sugar in the raw, baking at 350° the whole time. Even my very picky mother finally admitted it is better than her apple pie ;-)
