Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2004
It was tasty enough but not phenomenal. And it hardly rose at all. I followed the directions (having never made it before, I didn't want to improvise until I knew how the recipe turned out). If I make it again, I'd stir in the cinnamon-nuts-brown sugar mixture rather than layer it.

Noreen's Mom's Simple Summer Squash Bake

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
I used zucchini and yellow squash; they don't require seeding. This was only OK. Kinda bland. I added some "Pasta Sprinkle" seasoning (oregano, parsley, etc.) to boost it up some but it needs something more. I think it can be worked into something better--maybe some buttered breadcrumbs on top.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
This is the only cornbread my family will allow me to make. I have searched high and low for the perfect cornbread recipe for us and this is it!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
Easy & tasty--my favorite! I use a spice cake mix; you can eliminate the spices that way or add to your taste.

More time-consuming that I usually like but delicious and worth the effort!

Creamed Chicken for Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I added some onion and some chicken bouillon. Otherwise, I followed the recipe pretty spot-on. Yum! It gets added into the regular rotation.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I made this for my daughter tonight and she thought it was very good, just a tad too spicy for her tastes. Her boyfriend, however, didn't think it was spicy at all (oh, those Southwestern boys). I'll definitely make this again. Like others before me, I also dredged the chicken in flour.

Crescent-Wrapped Brie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
Five stars because it's easy and excellent! I topped the brie with a tablespoon of apricot preserves before enclosing it with the crescent roll dough. I made it for a New Years treat for my fiance and I. It will be great to take to the next party we're invited to!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
This is now my "go-to" recipe for Italian Roast Beef! I have tried several recipes over the years but this one is IT. Like others, I used beef broth instead of water and basically doubled the sauce (that is to say, I used half the amount of roast beef as it was just for two of us--but used the same quantities of other ingredients). I served on buns with some sliced pepperoncinis. Yum!

Perfect. Loved it. It was easy. It'll taste better tomorrow, too, I know, after it sets for awhile. Thank you for posting!

Quick, easy & very good! I got more like 20 biscuits out of this, usng a cookie scoop to drop the dough. Definitely a keeper! Thank you!

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Easy to whip up and I had all the ingredients on hand. I thought it tasted just a tad "eggy." Could have just been the eggs I had. Will definitely make again.

Steak Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This was a great way to use up leftovers. We had left over prime rib from a night out (those things are ALWAYS too big for me to finish). I followed the recipe except using sharp cheddar cheese (it's what I had) and I just scrambled the eggs right into the mixture, like an unfolded omelette. We loved it.

Best Ever Brisket

Wonderful! The only thing I did differently was to use brown sugar instead of white. Will definitely make again (and again!).

Rhubarb Raisin Crisp

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
This was tasty and easy. I'll probably make it again. It didn't take 40 to 45 minutes to cook, though; only about 30 minutes and the topping started to get too brown so I pulled it out. Would have been great with some vanilla ice cream but I didn't have any.

Turkey Tenderloins

Wonderful! I used 3 TBL fresh rosemary from my herb garden. I marinated for about 1.5 hours and then we grilled them. Moist and flavorful. Definitely a keeper!

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
Five stars with the same modifications others made: reduced the Dijon mustard by half and marinated for about 20 minutes (just long enough for the coals to heat up on the grill). Oh this was restaurant quality and definitely will make again this summer!

Tender Breaded Turkey Cutlets

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
These were very good. I added a tablespoon a Dijon mustard to the sour cream (and I used full fat sour cream). I'll definitely make these again; they were quick, easy and tasty. I didn't have much problem with the breading. I coated the turkey cutlets and let them sit for about 30 minutes before putting them into the pan to help the crumbs "settle" on the cutlets.
