About this Cook
Being a military family for the past 17 years has given me a unique opportunity to learn dishes from all over the world. I am very adventurous with food and I like to try new things when ever I get the chance.
My favorite things to cook
I cook a little bit of everything but some of my favorite dishes are thai, indian, and mexican.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my husband in between deployments!
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean sour cream chicken enchilada!
My cooking tragedies
I made the most delicious smelling orange chicken but the taste was too bad to even deal husband and I both threw it out.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup
Such a great recipe. Especially on a cold day! I used vegetable broth in substitution of 2 cups of the water. It was hearty and filling. Goes well with chibata rolls.

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken
My son loves fried chicken, but in my pursuit of healthier versions of those types of foods, I stumbled across this recipe. Excellent! I used half of the breading and used boneless chicken thighs instead. This is the best parmesan chicken I've tried yet!

Chicken Katsu
I hadn't had good Chicken Katsu since we lived in Hawaii and was really craving it. I tweeked the recipe a little and I marinated the chicken in tempura sauce for 20 min. I then added the salt and pepper to the flour instead of the chicken. This has now become our families #1 meal! This is better than any of the mainland restaurant versions I have had yet!
