Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
My first attempt at this recipe and I am thrilled! I am eating a piece right now, still warm from the oven. I only reduced the sugar a bit, I like it less sweet. This way my son can also enjoy a piece, he is quite young and I don't give him too many sweets. And the bananas are always mashed when I make a banana nut bread, so I did this here as well. It is a light and moist BNB, simply perfect. It's much lighter in color than the other recipe I use, I have no clue why that is. If you want a "no fail recipe" try this...you won't regret it.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
So, the taste was good but it was sooo runny I had no use for it :( I followed the recipe, I really don't know what others do different. Thankfully I had more butter and sugar at home so I made a buttercream really quick to save the day.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
I made this the first time ever and it is just perfect! Mmhhh, this lovely smell in the kitchen:) I didn't change much, just added a hint of cinnamon. I mixed the walnuts in last, coating them in a little flour before so they don't sink to the bottom. I used half the dough to make a bread and the rest made 12 muffins, just so I could eat some while they bread was still baking:) It was rather light and fluffy, maybe because I only had cake flour left, but still very good. The only thing I might change is using other nuts, the walnuts are rather dominant in taste! But still, a great and easy to follow recipe!!!

Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
Love, love, LOVE this recipe!!!! I only had normal flour, so I used 1 teaspoon baking powder per cup extra! The batter was so light and fluffy and sooo much, it almost overflowed my bowl :-) I got 36 little cupcakes out of it. And one thing was VERY interesting...using convection made them come out with a leveled top and using normal heat made them dome and crack like muffins!!!

LOVE this recipe, thanks so much!!! I finally have the result I wanted, a nice and thick sauce, not runny at all!! My german family loved it, finally a pie like we remembered from our life in the US !!! (It's the nutmeg that makes the difference!)

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
VERY VERY GOOD!!! I was looking for an all american crust recipe and this was PERFECT!!! So flaky and buttery (even though I used half butter half shortening), my pie was the best in the bunch. I don't have a pastry cutter, so I used a big kitchen knife to cut up the frozen fat with the flour on my counter, like chopping herbs. It was weird not kneading the dough to blend in the butter chunks, but this step is very important! Love love love this recipe, already saved in my family cookbook!!! Thanks for saving our thanksgving:-)

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
!!!PERFECT!!! This was the first time I used this recipe and it was quite easy. I used only a little sugar, some in my family like it just a little sweet, but it was just right even for me! I was in a hurry, (turkey already done) so I filled the dough in a very big pan, it was barely an inch high after baking only about 20 minutes, perfect for last minute baking! it got GREAT reviews from everybody, my husband said I have to repeat this every weekend from now on!!! LOve love love it!!!
