Chef John's Quiche Lorraine

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
Wonderful! The first time I made it is was very good, but the 2nd time I watched the video and what a difference.WOW! The tips he gives in the video you can't get from the recipe only. I don't like watching videos but this was a must for me. I get the difference now, from a dense eggy quiche which can still be tasty but Chef John's true quiche is a custardy flavorful delight, a taste to behold!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Ok, this was fab!!! I made this for folks who don't count calories and its a good thing! I did not read all the reviews and about mid way got concerned about the quantities. Most def makes 2 pies, there was way too much egg and milk, cut it in half and still make 2pies easily. So really the recipe makes two pies, I did lessen the butter used all the feta on the recipe and 1/2 the cheddar. added two sliced of chopped up ham for flavor and used fresh mushrooms, a must for me. I used a very large onion and I am glad. The reviews were wild, everyone wanted the recipe, men and women. As she said its an ad lib recipe, but quantiey needs to be cut back as others say too! Will make again and again ,perhaps with a tad less butter! :D

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
With zucchini just bursting from gardens right now I had to make some bread, found this recipe and it is fantastic! My DB ( dearboyfriend) says its the best ever! I also added some applesauce I made the other day and reduced the oil a bit and reduced sugar about 1/4 cup. Added extra vanilla because I like it that way and a few dark chocolate chips instead of walnuts. Excellent recipe! Thank you!

Mini Frittatas with Quinoa

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
Delicious! Super easy and versatile! I used Gruyere and doubled the recipe. Used 6 eggs and 2 whites. This recipe is very forgiving and you can do a lot with it. I also added fresh herbs and pepper, next time will try feta, spinach and diced onions.Excellent as its written. Have it for dinner with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc.

Kale, Quinoa, and Avocado Salad with Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
This is a superb salad! It is forgiving so if you are missing something you can add something else. I added chia seeds and garlic to the dressing as well as a touch of tahini, then tossed with fresh basil and mint.
