About this Cook
Haven't met a vegetable I didn't like. Love Asian foods and sushi. Do eat meats on rare occasions.Really enjoy reading cookbooks and recipes and dreaming about the things to make.
My cooking tragedies
First time I made Chow Fun I was about 18 and I did not boil the noodles, just stuck em in the casserole. It was very crunchy! Just never occurred to me to boil them; the writing was in Chinese! My former husband ( ha ha not because of that) pretended he loved it and ate it any how!

Kale, Quinoa, and Avocado Salad with Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette
This is a superb salad! It is forgiving so if you are missing something you can add something else. I added chia seeds and garlic to the dressing as well as a touch of tahini, then tossed with fresh basil and mint.

Chef John's Quiche Lorraine
Wonderful! The first time I made it is was very good, but the 2nd time I watched the video and what a difference.WOW! The tips he gives in the video you can't get from the recipe only. I don't like watching videos but this was a must for me. I get the difference now, from a dense eggy quiche which can still be tasty but Chef John's true quiche is a custardy flavorful delight, a taste to behold!

Mini Frittatas with Quinoa
Delicious! Super easy and versatile! I used Gruyere and doubled the recipe. Used 6 eggs and 2 whites. This recipe is very forgiving and you can do a lot with it. I also added fresh herbs and pepper, next time will try feta, spinach and diced onions.Excellent as its written. Have it for dinner with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc.
