I always add quartered, cored apples and brown sugar to my pork and sauerkraut. I also do sausage, but do it seperately w/ cut up peppers and onions and add a sauce of brown sugar, catsup and soy sauce and bake. YUM!!!!

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2004
This is GREAT!!!! I marinated, in separate ziplocs, steak, chicken and veggies (zucchini, yellow squash and egglpant slices). I did use less oil than recipe called for, added more garlic, and used Grey Poupon -- I also altered the amts - eyeballed them. A keeper and will definately make this one again. Thanks for sharing, Jon!!

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2004
Excellent soup and VERY EASY!!! I used the Campbell's Beef Broth and it said "double strength" on the can.......it was fine!!! I did not cook the onions till totally tender, as they got tender as they simmered. Didnt have any swiss cheese, so that was eliminated. I ladled soup into our "big cups", topped w/ CROUTONS, instead of the bread, sprinkled w/ parm, and topped w/ provolone. Popped into the microwave to melt the cheese a bit and EVERYONE loved it!!!!

Chicken Enchiladas II

These were very good, but they needed more ZIP! I ended up putting salsa on top b/f serving. Next time I will use grated pepperjack cheese instead of the plain cheddar. I would make again. Forgot to add....I doubled this recipe.

Basil Shrimp

This was excellent and very easy. I cut back a little on the butter and added a little more olive oil and lemon juice. I also eliminated the skewers and just put the shrimp in my grill basket!! Served w/ couscous and a salad. Will definately make again...may add scallops next time, also! Thanks Gail!!!!

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2003
This was GREAT!!!! I roasted and cut up, and chilled (in ziplocs) my chicken on Friday, prepared my salad on Saturday, and served it on Sunday and it held up great!!! I tripled it and added more grapes, 2 apples, walnuts in stead of almonds b/c I was having them in my salad, onion and salt to taste, and cayenne to taste...needed some kick and this did the trick. I used Miracle Whip and Cool Whip...no mayo. Sunday, I added a little more Mir. Whip and Cool Whip, to moisten. I served it on croissants w/leaf lettuce, that I made up about 3 hours ahead, and covered tightly w/ Saran Wrap and put in frig. Croissants also held up well in frig. Very easy -- and "make ahead" friendly. Actually better if it sits overnight!!!!! Will DEFINATELY make again!!!!!

Janet's Appetizer

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
I cant believe that no one has rated this!!!! These are GREAT. I did add a few cloves of fresh garlic in w/ the red onion when I processed it. Also used Chicken of the Sea lump crab meat and added 2 cans. Didnt have any party pump, so did it on party rye. Made a few to taste, as I am taking them to a party...so I have 2 cookie sheets made up, so all I have to do is broil them when I get there!!!!! I wish I would have made the mixture this morning as I think the flavors would have mixed together a little more, but all in all these are really easy and good!!! Thanks Janet and Linda!!!

Makes GREAT gifts w/ a nice little plate and spreader!!!! My friends LOVED it for Xmas!!!!! Thanks Dinah for bringing this one "back to life"!!!!!!

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2003
This is great and I have been making it for years. Use a full pkg of spinach...I usually double the recipe and refill the bread bowl, b/c it goes fast. I use round PUMPERNICKEL BREAD for the bowl, and cubes of rye and pump, or can use party rye slices and party pump slices. I also use light ingredients.
