Tater Tot Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2013
I followed some of the other reviewers tips to add 2 more eggs and more cheese. I cooked the tator tots a little first, and I used the pre-cooked sausage. Picky kids loved this and went back for seconds!!! Definitely a keeper!!

Beefy Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
I made this the other night with a few changes. I cooked up the meat with onions and garlic, added cumin, chili powder and a little cayanne pepper, (omitting the green pepper), then added stewed tomatoes chopped up, 2 squirts of ketchup, 1 small can of tomato sauce and 1 can of Rotel tomato sauce (it must be new because I have only seen the diced tomatoes with chilis from Rotel). I cooked the rice in a rice cooker and added it to the meat mixture, and threw in corn. My husband and I loved it!

Pork Medallions

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
Great recipe! I used cornstarch instead of flour to make it gluten free. I doubled the mushrooms and broth and added a splash of white wine. At the end I added a splash of gravy master to darken the gravy. I've never had savory and I think that is what made it so good!! I served it over rice and my husband I loved it! Definitely a keeper!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This is a great recipe for Butter Cream Frosting! It has the perfect consistency to use for decorating cakes and spreads easily. However, next time I will use a little more butter and a little less shortening, but not much. Perfect and delicious on the Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate cake on this site!

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
This cake is awesome!! It's the butter sauce drizzled over it that really makes it. One time I doubled the sauce...it was to die for! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. Definitely cool completely in the pan. Great served with homemade whipped cream!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This is so easy! The meat just falls apart. Make sure you cook it on low for at least 7 hrs...8 hrs is better. Omit the water and only use the mushroom soup and onion soup mix if you like a thicker gravy. I like to add baby carrots and sometimes potatoes to the crock pot.

Salmon Spread I

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2006
This is so good! I used smoked salmon from a foil packet that is found with the canned tuna at the store. I used 3 oz. because that was what was in the pack. I didn't have any seafood seasoning, and it was awesome without it! Even my picky daughter and husband who won't eat salmon loved it! I served it with crackers but it is great as a bagel spread also. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Sausage Flowers

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2006
I made these for a party and they were the first to go! I used phyllo cups as suggested by others. It was easy and they were delicious! Next time I think I'll make a batch with the sausage, and another with ground beef. Thanks for the great recipe!

Hungarian Goulash I

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
This was delicious! I took other reviewers suggestions and cooked the onions with the meat and used beef broth instead of water. I only used a pinch of salt and served with a garnish of sour cream. An absolute keeper! I served with the German Spaetzle Dumplings recipe on this site. Thanks Wendy!

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
Excellent! I would recommend doubling the ingredients...it goes fast! I only used a pinch of nutmeg. I used a potato ricer/spaetzle press to make it and it was so easy that way! Thanks Holly!

Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2005
Very good! I took the advice of an earlier reviewer and sliced the breast in half instead of pounding it out. I also omitted the nutmeg. Will definitely make again!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2005
This was great! So easy to prepare! I omitted the peppers, put 1 can of kidney beans and 1 can of pinto beans and cooked the meat with the onion the day before. Just threw everything into the crockpot and cooked it for 8 hrs. Served it with tortilla chips, shredded cheese and sour cream. Was even better the next day! Next time I will not add the water as we like it thicker.

Chicken Saltimbocca

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2004
This was really good! I did add pressed garlic to the chicken as it was cooking, wrapped the prosciutto around the chicken, added about 1/2 can of chicken broth and made a sauce instead of letting the wine evaporate. Of course I used more cheese too! Served it with linguine... so good! Next time I will add fresh spinach to the sauce at the end!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
This was really good! I pounded the chicken thin, marinaded it with balsamic vinegar and garlic powder for about 10 minutes before dredging it in the flour. I only used 3 cloves of garlic, but I pressed them through a garlic press first. I only used 1/8 Cup of the vinegar at first, but after I removed the chicken, I put more into the pan. I used 1 cup of chicken broth and omitted the bay leaf. Served it over polenta...mmm mmm good!

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
This was really good! Instead of a tomato, I used a can of petite diced tomatoes. I am not a fan of marinaded artichokes, but it really made the dish! I agree with the reviewer who said the feta cheese made it!! Delicious!

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2003
These go FAST where ever I take them. I do cut the bacon into thirds, and cook them a little longer, as I like my bacon crisp. If I am taking them somewhere, I cook them first, transfer them to another dish, add the sauce and cook that when I get there.
