I love to cook for my family, blood related or otherwise. It makes me happy when I know that I've provided the people I love with good, wholesome and from scratch food. I lived in Japan for 3.5 years as a working chef, so I have a lot of cooking experience with Japanese and SE Asian cuisine. It can get a little crazy in my small apartment kitchen, but it's always worth it in the end. My favorite cooking tools are; my santoku knives, rubber spatulas, and metal measuring spoons!
My favorite things to cook
I have grown to appreciate my slow cooker now that I'm back in the USA as a full-time student and worker. But other than trusty slow cooker recipes, I've gotten pretty "famous" for three recipes: my shredded pork chili, korean tacos, and last but not least my Gai Pad Krapow. Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family = terrible cooking. If it doesn't come in a frozen package or box, they are probably going to be too lazy to cook it. My husband is the only exception. He rocks in the kitchen, and is responsible for teaching me a lot of what I know in home-cooking.
