Arrabbiata Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2003
Too chunky- I was looking for a smoother arrabbiata sauce. So after ingredients were combined, I put them in the blender to puree them into a smooth consistency. I then added a splash of milk to make it a bit more creamy, and simmered as directed. Without these modifications I would give this recipe 3-4 stars, but after making the creamy version, I definitely give it 5 stars! Spicy, creamy. and even better the next day! Thanks!

Stuffed Acorn Squash

We have been loving this recipe! We did bake it without the foil for the last half as we like a crunchy top. Will make again and again!

Party Punch VI

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
Just what I expected, but boy is this sweet! Much too sweet for my taste, but it fit the bill for my daughter's 11th birthday party. I froze Hawaiian Punch in a bundt pan and floated that with the sherbert. Just what I was looking for, but be prepared for sweetness with this one!

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
With a few modifications, this is a five star dish. Added sour cream and shredded mexican cheese blend to the soup mixture- only had cream of chicken on hand. Omitted the cheese from the top. Served over rice- was a big hit with the family- everyone had seconds! great way to use leftover rotisserie chicken.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2002
I expected this to be a bit more tasty. It was rather bland, although my husband liked it. I think the key is in the type of bread crumbs you choose. I will experiment with that next time. Thanks!

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Just the slow-cooker recipe I was looking for! Omitted the onions, and added a spoonful of beef billion to the water for extra flavor. Used Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Now I've got corned beef hash (also from allrecipes) in the breakfast pan. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Made recipe as directed and it was tasty, yet the pork chops were a bit dry. They were super tender, however, which is a nice switch from grilled pork chops which can be tough. As a family we decided that a little dry is preferable to tough. Thanks for the recipe; will make again!

Cherry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly. It was a bit sweet for our tastes- next time I'll cut the sugar down- especially if we have such wonderful Oregon cherries again! Will also make this with blueberries here in a few weeks. Thanks!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
These were great, but to make them more healthy I used Olive Oil in place of the margarine and cooked until very crunchy. Perfect consistency and taste!

Asian Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
These are very tasty. I made these along with other kabob recipes from this site (Pineapple Chicken Tenders, Chili-Lime Chicken, Mushroom Kabobs) for a big potluck this summer. They were definitely a crowd pleaser. I was asked for the recipe numerous times and referred everyone to allrecipes.com! Thanks!

Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
Just the recipe I was looking for! Used leftover corned beef from the slow-cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe on this site and used red potatoes. Next time will try yukon gold potatoes and cabbage to mimic a recipe from a favorite local breakfast place. Kids liked it so much I went and bought two more corned beef briskest to out in the freezer. A new favorite in our house. Thanks!

Cabbage and Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
This was a hit with the entire family! I did drain off the bacon grease and left a tablespoon or so in the pot before adding the onion. With the onion I added some minced garlic. I poured in a tiny bit more of the drained bacon grease when I added the cabbage. I like spicy food, and this was perfect with some Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Made this tonight for the first time. Since I was trying to use ingredients I had on hand, I used Rigatoni instead of Linguine and used two cans of diced tomatoes instead of fresh. As with other reviewers, I used around 1/2 cup wine. The taste was GREAT, but it is definitely chunky with the tomatoes. I will definitely make this again, but perhaps blend half of the tomatoes first.

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: May 9, 2003
Yum!! My family LOVED this cornbread. My husband even had the leftover for breakfast! I disagree with other reviewers that it was too sweet, we thought it was perfect. I did have to bake it much longer than suggested- about 15 minutes longer- probably due to the smaller pan I used. This one is a keeper, and I can't wait to make it again! Thanks!

Very easy and tasty. The key is the type of pasta sauce you use- it's best not to skimp! Great with angel hair pasta and garlic bread. Thanks!

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2002
The spicy flavor of this soup was just right for my family! The hardest part was trying to "shred" the Velveeta- I just ended up cubing it and it melted just fine. Great leftover too! Thanks!

Poppy Seed Bundt Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2014
Daughter requested almond poppyseed cake for her 13th birthday. Used this super easy recipe but took others' advice and added an additional Tblsp of poppyseeds and doubled the almond extract. Since the newly minted teenager requested frosting rather than icing or a glaze, I used a thin layer of vanilla frosting. Sprinkled with slivered almonds and adorned with raspberries. The birthday girl said this is a new birthday tradition, so that's good enough for me! Next time will add a bit more almond extract to hike up the flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Excellent drink for a gathering on a blustery day! Used orange wedge instead of lemon, let simmer in crock pot. Lots of compliments on this one!
