World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
NOT AN EXAGGERATION. This really is the world's best lasagna!!!! I made a few subs: I used Buddy's Mariana (TLC's Kitchen Boss) and used 1/3rd less ricotta and sub'd in cottage cheese (a weight watchers reciepe). Truly outstanding. So good, I have to share w/my extended family...tho we want to keep every morsel!!! Thanks Johnchandler!!!!!!!!!!!

smooth, sweet a very lovely curry. i was proud to say i made curry for the 1st time! will make again - only rated a 4 bc my 2 toddlers ended up having cereal, the curry spice was too much for them i think bc we eat tofu regularly.

Country Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
we loved this so much - we feed the neighbors!!! though i ended up using another reviewer's suggestion of cornstartch + milk - it was still too thin for our tastes. so i ended up adding 3 heaping T of flour to make it more gravy-like. and there's still a TON leftover that i froze for a fast and impressive 2nd meal. THANKS!

my bars were a hit but were a bit bitter (I wonder if it was bc I included a bit of pulp?).

Albondigas Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
I really, really liked this recipe - though I changed it a bit. I used less than 1 c. uncooked white rice instead of the bread and 10 cups of water & 4 cubes of bouillon and I still wished I made it soupier. This was a very flavorful broth and I followed the spices by the recipe (but omitted cumin seed bc I didn't have any). I can't imagine how strong it would've been w a lb of beef and only 4 cups of water. Thanks for the recipe!!

Texas Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
nice, i read all the reviews and used both onion and bell pepper bc my family loves those flavors. i agree it was a bit too thick but didn't bother to put it in the blender. my mexican husband told me it tasted delicious but "white" and if i'm honest - it was really labor intensive and probably a bit more expensive than buying a $3 can of Las Palmas. haha

Turkey Meatballs in Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
the meatballs were wonderful! i was not a fan of the v8 based sauce so i didn't use it. but the meatballs were the perfect consistency to pick up w an ice cream scoop so they cooked beautifully. I have toddlers and we ate them w dipping sauces - ketchup, BBQ & Teriyaki. Delish!

Perfect Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
this was really good but more cake-like than I was looking for. I wanted it to have a denser, desert-like texture. after an hour bake time it was perfectly done but too brown for my taste - it looks burned throughout, just too dark brown.

Icelandic Pepper Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
A HIT! Tjhis is going to be a new Christmas tradition. I think I might have used too much corn syrup (more than the 1 c. a previous reviewer suggested) and the cookies fell - spread too thin. but still - crispy, soft, delicious. sure to impress.
